"Then, this place has been under surveillance since that incident." Arlo states.
"What the hell..? That's bull. Don't lie to me, Arlo!" John yells, pointing at Arlo.
"What? Why would I lie about something like this?" Arlo asks.
"You're telling me that some dudes at the mall have been watching me for the last month and a half so that they can kidnap someone who doesn't even live here? That's crazy! I would have noticed something wrong. She was just in the wrong place at the wrong time." John reasons.
"'Wrong place at the wrong time?' You really think some random people off the street can stab, drug, find, and launch a calculated attack on Seraphina all within twelve hours?" Arlo asks.
"Look, Seraphina never mentioned anything about a tracker in that bear!" John yells.
"But Remi did. I also saw the one she won at the mall, and their escape after we found it was too well orchestrated. Not just anyone would have the resources to develop ability dampeners either. These people have to be a part of or associated with a large scale organization. If that's true, they would know how risky attacking Wellston's dorms would be, even with the dampeners. They would find the place she spent the most time at that was also the easiest to hit. Your house fits both." I explain.
"Exactly, and the bear isn't even the point. I'm telling you, whoever these guys are, have been planning her abduction for over a month now! Why can't you get that through your head?" Arlo yells.
"You know, Arlo. Not everyone spends an entire month planning the downfall of a single person." John bites back.
Everyone freezes at that. For a moment, even Arlo looks terrified. I walk over to him and put a hand on his shoulder to calm him down a little, something I used to do when he pushed himself too far during training. He sighs before looking at me, showing me that he's listening.
"John, I know you don't trust him," I say, gesturing to Arlo, "but I am telling you that his theory is the one that makes the most sense. Just trust me on this one." I say, hoping that the others don't notice John tense up at the request.
"Fine. If all this is true, what do you think those guys want with her." John asks, trying to redirect the conversation a bit.
    "How would I know?"
