Chapter 59, Safety.

    Seraphina and I stumble around a corner to John's street, his house coming into view just as Seraphina collapses on me.
    "Darn it!" I almost yell.
    "Sorry, I can barely feel my legs." She replies.
    "I should have cauterized that wound when it happened." I mutter to myself, feeling her blood soaking into my shirt.
    "If you're having the same issue I am, that wasn't an option." Seraphina says and I pick her up completely, staggering a bit as my vision blurs from the effort.
    "Doesn't make it any less irritating."
    I stumble past a few more houses, swearing as I go, before finally reaching John's house. "You've got a key right?"
    "Front purse pocket." She manages.
    "Thank goodness. I was half expecting to have to wait until he got back." I laugh as I struggle to get the door open without dropping Seraphina.
    "Well, I guess it's a good thing I got attacked on my suspension instead of before it." She jokes.
    "I guess that's an optimistic way to look at it." I say as I put her on the couch, "John has a first aid kit, right?"
    "If he doesn't, there is one in my suitcase." She answers.
    "Finally, someone smart!"
    "I would say more paranoid, but I'll take it."
    "Well, Remi didn't have one in the dorm until we went shopping for groceries the week I got here." I tell her.
    "Wow, that's bad."
    "Tell me about it. I'll be right back." I say before running down the hall to find one of the possible two med kits in the house. Before I get back I hear the front door slam shut and John yell "Hey! Sera! Wake up! What happened?!"
    I finally find what I'm looking for before stumbling back to the main room. I find him holding Seraphina, trying to shake her awake.
    "She got attacked while she was out. I got her here, but I was too late to stop her from getting hurt." I explain as I walk over to him with the first aid supplies, "Can you call Elaine while I try to stop the bleeding?"
    He nods before taking Seraphina's phone out of her bag. I take as many gaws and bandages out of the kit as I can, and hold them to Seraphina's side before trying to check her pulse.
    "Elaine! Quick, I need you to come over right away! Sera's..." John starts before trailing off, "She hung up on me!"
    "What did you do? Oh, nevermind. Take care of her, I'll call someone." I tell him, pulling my phone out of my pocket and attempting to stand. Before I make it fully to my feet, my vision blurs again before going black completely.
