Four years, eight months, three days.

Fifty-six months.

Two hundred twelve weeks.

One thousand seven hundred twenty–two days.

Forty-one thousand three hundred twenty–eight hours.

Two million four hundred seventy–nine thousand six hundred eighty minutes.

Fifty-seven full moons.

And a ridiculous amount of seconds since, what could arguably be the worst day of Remus John Lupin's twenty-five years of life. And he's had a lot of awful days.

The day he and his twin sister had gotten attacked and he was bitten by Fenrir Greyback and became a werewolf.

Or, it could be his first-ever full moon, locked in a basement and having no idea what was happening to him.

Or, it could be the day Sirius Black sent Severus Snape to the Shrieking Shack on a night of a full moon, almost making him either bite or worse, kill the Slytherin boy.

Or, it could be the day he had to go undercover with werewolf packs for Dumbledore, making James Potter, Peter Pettigrew, and Sirius Black think he was the traitor.

Or, it could be the day he saw his twin sister and fiancé fall apart because their fiancé/brother went missing—and presumed dead, having to bury an empty coffin.

Or, it could be the day his twin sister was killed in front of his niece; then having to bury her just a few days later next to her fiancé's empty casket.

Or, it could be almost three months later when his fiancé sold out their two best friends, their kid and killed their other best friend in just a few hours.

Or, it could be realizing a few days later that his fiancé also sold out his twin sister and niece.

Or, it could be losing everything in just a few hours because of a man you love and doubting that he ever loved you back.

But at least he had his niece.

His poor niece that was there for her mother's and her aunt and uncle's deaths. His poor niece who's best friend was taken into the muggle world and she didn't understand why. His poor niece whose life hasn't been easy and joyful—who will never know her mum and dad. His poor niece, that from November first till November tenth wouldn't leave his side, though he didn't complain. His poor niece who's colourful hair and bright smile seems duller and force, despite only being two.
