Chapter 8

Inside her travel car, Lee Jieun wears a fancy dress that attracts everyone's attention in her presence.

She was on the way to a famous restaurant, scrolling on her Instagram when her phone suddenly rings.

Jennie-ah Calling...

Smirk on her face, she answered the call. "Hello, Jennie-ah,"

"IU Sunbae! Are you seriously meeting Lalisa on a dinner!?"

Rage is the first thing the petite woman notice, it made her chuckle. Jennie knows too well that she's already taken- the brunette knows that the older woman is only approaching the photographer because she told her not to.

In short, IU is just teasing her- but you see? Jennie's not in the mood for any pleasantries, she's in a very nasty mood at the moment and hearing from her manager that Lalisa invited IU to a dinner just made it worse.

With gritted teeth, she says, "Don't fuckin' mess with me, Jieun. You wouldn't like what I would do to you."

Sensing that the younger woman isn't in any joking mood- IU relents. "Calm down, will you? It's nothing big, we'll just celebrate for a job well done." She justified but it didn't even cool the latter's anger- not even a little bit.

Jaw clenched, Jennie's voice drop several degrees, scaring the petite actress. "Jieun-Unnie, I'm not fucking with you- continue that damn dinner and your career is over. Try me."

Every syllable is emphasize, IU fearfully gulp several times, face as pale as a white sheet of paper, it made her manager worry.

Jennie Kim is not someone IU can offend, she got in her good graces, that was an advantage- but being her enemy? That's asking for death.

Only few in the entertainment industry knows that Kim Jennie is connected to the prestigious Kim Clan, after all, there's a lot of Kim in Korea.

But, IU came from the Lee Corps, they were one of the Kim's Clan direct partners, hence, IU knows who really Kim Jennie is.

Coated with thick fear, IU nod even though the younger woman won't see. "I-I understand... I made a mistake, please forgive me, Miss Kim."

Formality is necessary- although Jennie already got IU's word, she's still anxious and in a nasty mood. It has something to do with not seeing her Lili for 3 days and 89 days left.

It frustrates her so much but she could do nothing about it- she has to honor the deal she partake with.

"It's good that you understand." As she said that, the line ended and IU felt relief washed all over her system.

She didn't notice it earlier but she's having cold sweat all over her body and her hands is shaking.

Her manager speaks seeing that the phone call ended. "Are you okay, Jieun?"

He worriedly ask, but IU was too scared to answer right away, after a few minutes, she took a deep breath and told her manager.

"Oppa, turn the car around and inform Miss Manoban that the dinner will be canceled because of a personal reason." What she said surprise and confused her secretary at the same time.

"But we're already near the place, if you have something to do that can't wait, you can just tell that to Miss Manoban personally. You know it's rude to cancel a meeting last minute, right?"

IU sighs, she gave her manager a pointed look before saying, "I can't do that, Jong Han." Hearing his name from the actress' own mouth, the manager was startled.

IU continues, "Kim Jennie already assert her dominance over Lisa, it's my fault that I didn't take her warning very seriously because we have a little connection, she's the person I'm in the phone with, and, she threatened to ruin my career if I go with the dinner."
