KAZ DATING ANOTHER MASTERMIND [HC'S]

- It began as rivalry - you were the leader of another gang, and at first he thought of you as a menace.

- You always seemed to be one step ahead with your gang and (in his perfectionist mind) you were making him look stupid among the Dregs.

- And as you were found injured near the Slat, Kaz kind of wanted to turn you to the Stadwatch.

- But the Crows spoke him out of it, saying that you or your gang weren't like the other rival gangs, you didn't try to sabotage anything or do any harm to the Dregs.

- And that helping you could be fruitful in the future.

- So Kaz reluctantly let them help you, but keeping a close eye on you as Nina tended your wounds and Matthias helped you get back to your gang.

- A few weeks later, you came to the Club with a few gang members, offering an alliance.

- After accepting, Kaz was spending more time with you as you planned a lot of stuff together.

- He found himself admiring you and your mind, and how something lit up inside him when you complimented him (even though he didn't show it).

- Both of you were equally cunning and ambitious, so that sometimes led to slight bickering during heists, trying to best one of another all the time.

- Nina said that it's your way to flirt though.

- You never really agreed to date, or at least didn't talk about it, but at some point everyone just knew that you were his and he was yours.

- Your favorite way to spend the day was working together, not the way most couples like it.

- Sneaking glances at each other among doing work, and sometimes Kaz found himself smiling softly at the sight of you.

- He's pretty protective once he really starts to be in love with you, seemingly forgetting that you were just as careful with all the plans as he was.

- After a while of it going on, you kinda become frustrated about it and tell him that you want him to stop.

- He's quiet about the reasons, but promises to tone it down.

- After a few months from that conversation, you actually get badly stabbed during the heist and nearly died.

- Kaz fights with several panic attacks that day, because all he can see is Jordie and you, side by side.

- But after the following (sleepless) night, he's told that you're alive and awake and want to see him.

- He knows that it's time for the truth.

- He tells you about Jordie, about his fear to grow to care about someone again, because there's always a chance that in the Barrel, tonight might be your last because you could die in a million of ways.

- And that it's why he didn't want to care about you either, but still you ended up holding his heart.

- You listen to him before you reach out, not actually expecting him to grab your hand but he does.

- It lasts just for a few seconds, but you both know that it's a promise. A promise to stand by each other to the end of the line.

- And when he lets go, he sits on the armchair beside your bed, his first intention is to keep you company and be a good and caring boyfriend, but soon you're picking the next target for a heist again.

- Because what else could you expect from two lover masterminds being in the same room? 😅
