Bantering with Kaz and Y/N planning a heist together.

"After we have arrived to the mansion in the carriage and hid it, we'll look around. The main doors are here," Kaz mumbled after inspecting the blueprint for a while and tapped a spot on the map. "Inej told me that a bunch of guards are stationed at this point."

You looked at his finger tracing the parchment, then back to the smaller map in your hands.

"The gate is heavily guarded too, though not quite as well," you said, pointing out the markings and Kaz squinted his eyes.

"Yes, we can make it through there with some planning. I think if we take the long way around, we might slip through right under their eyes," he said and looked up at you. You smiled softly at him.

"Well, after we have gotten through the gates, then what?" you asked and looked into Kaz's eyes. He frowned, and you swore you saw the wheels turning behind his eyes as he thought. Then, his finger moved to the spot on the map which had been circled.

"Nina could lure one of the guards here," he moved the finger slightly to the left, and you cocked your head. "And take them out while in the shadows."

"What if she's not fast enough?" you asked. "There are guards all around the yard, someone could very easily see her and alert others."

Kaz nodded his head, his eyes fixed on the map. "She's got to be quick, but I believe she can do it."

You both stared at the map for a moment, before you pointed at one of the many backdoors scattered throughout the complex.

"Could that be a way in? The patrolling won't visit near that door very often, so it would probably be safe." You looked up at Kaz, who was staring intently at you. He smirked slightly.

"Yes, that sounds good." he then said, laying his eyes back to the map and you felt a little smile coming to your face as Kaz basically just complimented you, something he rarely did. He tapped the map with his finger and inspected the hallways leading down to the basement, and the "secret" vault.

"That looks like an excellent way in," you said, nodding your head. He gave you another smirk.

"The way to the basement isn't too difficult from there. We'll have to station Jesper and Matthias to look out for us as we go down to the basement. There's no other way out from the basement, and the lock is praised as 'thief proof'. Hm."

"Thief proof. Is it Dirtyhands proof too?" you teased, raising your eyebrows and Kaz rolled his eyes.

"Of course not." he scoffed. "I'll break it in a minute, tops."

You chuckled and leaned back on your chair.

"So, now we know how to get inside and get through the basement, and we know what to do once we're down there. But when we're taking away our prize, how are we going to get away unnoticed? There are guards all over the yard, and they'd be all over us if we tried to flee."

"I haven't forgotten about that," Kaz said, and you looked up at him curiously. "We're going to steal a boat."

"A boat?" you asked, not really following what he meant. He looked at you with a small smirk.

"Yes, a boat. There's a small harbor which isn't as well guarded as the rest of the yard, and we can use it to escape in." he gestured towards the corner of the map, the blueprint maker probably had ran out of space. "It should be just off the coast of the estate. We'll be back at the Slat with the prize before morning, if all goes well."

"Do we all fit on the boat?" you asked, and he looked over to you with a raised eyebrow.

"All of us? No, of course not. Nina will cover Matthias and Wylan out of the premises, we need the carriage back too. You, Inej and Jesper will join me on the boat for anyone coming after us. Which won't happen if everyone does their part flawlessly. They won't even know we were there before the prize has already been out of our hands."

"Everyone would be out of the place by the time the alarm went off." you mumbled, and Kaz nodded.

"It's not over yet, though. We have to make some backup plans." he told you and you nodded, taking another look on the map and your bantering continued, making notes on every single thing that could potentially go wrong, and also things that likely wouldn't go wrong, but still could. Maybe it was too much, but if Kaz was going to plan a heist, he'd make sure that everything would lead to a success, and you, being chosen as his second pair of eyes, would learn to be almost as observant.
