Five Years, Too Late

              Chicago (O'BRIENS AND SONS group of company)

Bernard (senior Mr O'Briens, Thanatos father), checked his wrist watch again and sighed.

His eyes scanned the large table, everyone is complete, all the shareholders.. including Donald Reinle (Thanato father-in-law).

But someone is missing, someone very important.. without him the meeting can't commence.

His name is..

The doors burst open and he took long strides in, like he always do.. he loves making an entrance.

He walked straight to his designated seat, next to Bernard's.

"Dad" Bernard greeted him with a nod.

"I wouldn't miss this for the world" he replied.

Bernard smiled. He turned back to the other shareholders and nodded.

"Let's proceed" Bernard said.

His assistant stepped forward and passed a file around, before connecting his laptop to the projector.

She turned to Bernard and signaled everything is fine.. Bernard cleared his throat and started.

"Last month we launched our new product, it was successful but there's a tiny problem...please check the files Julie dropped in front of you" he said.

Everyone picked the file in front of them and started flipping through pages.. a serious frown on their foreheads.

"The default setting weren't well...." He continued talking.

Some of the shareholders listened quietly, while others whispered among themselves... While his father-in-law (Roman) watched everyone quietly.

"... currently, the team working on it has come up with a solution.. but it's gonna take more than two months to correct this mistake" Bernard concluded.

He looked around, everyone is deliberating about the issue.

"Mr O'Briens, I think two months is quite good, but we've already launched this product.. and it's already on sale" one of the shareholders said.

"That's not a problem, we've already withdraw them from the market.. they'll no longer be on sale until modifications are made" Bernard said.

Everyone nodded, then the murmuring stopped.

"I guess everyone agrees with my decision?" Bernard asked.

His eyes glanced around, they're all nodding in agreement.. he smiled and sighed.

"Alright, since we've come to an agreement.. that's gonna be the end of today's meeting" he said.

Julie stepped forward and disconnected the laptop from the projector, she went over to his side and gathered his files..

Just when he's about to get up, Roman cleared his throat and Bernard sat down...none of the shareholders moved.

"I have an issue bothering me" Roman said.

Bernard exchanged looks with Donald and released a sigh.. he already knew what Roman has to say.

"Since you're retiring soon, why don't you bring your heir to our meetings sometimes.. to familiarize himself with us?"

Roman looked around, as if he's waiting for someone to support his words.

"Yes, Mr O'Briens, your father-in-law is right.. I think it's best if we also get to know our new chairman and CEO" one of them said.
