Oliver walked with a quickness, as he went searching for Celeste. He sighed in relief when he found her sitting under a tree in the courtyard. Technically, there was only one tree where he seen her, but there were others at different parts of the courtyard. He stayed off to the side, as he watched Celeste and Mattheo talk.
Mattheo had followed Celeste to the courtyard and sat next to her on the stone bench by a tree. He was worried about her, since he knew how much the girl adored playing quidditch. Quidditch was the one thing that made Celeste feel complete and happy with herself. If it wasn't for her cousin and quidditch, Celeste would definitely not be anything like herself.
"He can't just do that! I have worked my arse off to get to where I'm at now! Why would he do this?! Why would he try and ruin my life like this?! He and Aunt Cissa know how much it means to me!" Celeste seethed, as she clenched her fists, her knuckles turning white with the amount of strength she held.
"You knew this was coming, Celeste. Pure blood women do not play quidditch. They are all about etiquette, and proper mannerisms, and getting married, and having children. Quidditch was never a pure blood woman's sport, especially in the Black or Malfoy families, Celeste." Mattheo said, causing Celeste to groan.
"I know! I know, but he still could've looked passed it. I'm not normal by any means. I mean, if-if he let me play, I could've went to a professional team once I was out of Hogwarts. H-He's always hated Hogwarts; believed it went to the dogs, so why wouldn't he allow me to finally give the school a good name? Why wouldn't he allow me to put more respect on the Malfoy name?" Celeste commented, her head hanging low.
"I don't know, love, but I do know that this isn't the end of the world. Y-you'll find something else you're extravagant at and excel in it." Mattheo replied, making Celeste scoff.
"I'm great at a lot of things, Matt, but at the end of the day, Uncle Lucius chooses what I do with my life, and what I'm allowed to excel in. He'll be the one to decide if I have a career after Hogwarts. He'll decide who I marry. I'm surprised I can choose how many children I birth later in my life." Celeste answered, sighing quietly.
"Everything happens for a reason, Celeste, even when you don't understand it." Mattheo stated, before standing up and walking away.
Mattheo barely missed Oliver, but luckily Oliver had hidden himself from Mattheo's view. Oliver's face held it's own frown after hearing what Celeste had told Mattheo. He didn't understand how her uncle could be so terrible and take quidditch away from her. Even though Oliver was an amazing player and had quite a large ego, he couldn't deny that Celeste was quite the player. She'd definitely make it on a professional team, if she was allowed to keep playing through the last three years of school. With a sigh, Oliver began walking over to Celeste.
Celeste played with the ring on her finger, as she thought about how awful her uncle had been. She almost believed that taking away quidditch was worse than when he crucio'd her. She wondered if taking away quidditch was actually a punishment for something she couldn't remember doing. She tried to remember every little thing she could've done wrong, but she came up empty. Quidditch was being taken from her to punish her without reason. Her mind was taken off the subject for a moment, when she heard someone approaching her. Looking up, she was a little shocked to see Oliver approaching her.
"What are you doing here, Wood?" She asked, her voice as hard as stone.
"I-I heard what happened, and I'm sorry." He said, trying not to look like a fool.
"Why were you listening?" She asked, narrowing her eyes.
"I didn't mean to, but I did overhear what you and Mattheo were saying. Your uncle is arse for taking quidditch away from you." Oliver commented, and a small smile appeared on Celeste's face.
Oliver felt his heart leap with joy when he realized he was the cause of the smile on Celeste's face, no matter how small it actually was. He had never gotten her to smile at him before, even when he tried to be intentionally funny. Most of the time, she was scowling at him or telling him off for bothering her.
"I seen you didn't eat breakfast, so I grabbed a couple things." Oliver said, as he reached into his pocket and pulled out the croissant and green apple.
"Thank you," Celeste murmured, trying not to blush from the amount of care Oliver was showing her,"Is this a poke at my house?" She asked, looking at the green apple.
"N-no, it's all we had at our table, and--" He began, before Celeste cut him off.
"I'm joking, mate, don't get your knickers in a twist." She replied, and he laughed.
"May I?" He asked, motioning to sit beside her.
"Sure," She replied, taking a bite of the apple,"thank you again. Nobody else seemed to notice." She said, and he smiled.
"I always notice you, Celeste, even when it's little things. I noticed your hair is longer. I noticed that you always wear that same necklace and ring every day. I noticed that you play with the ring when your upset. I also noticed that you're rather caring, even if you don't want to show it." He answered, causing her to force a blush away.
"I do care, I just can't show weakness. If I do, bad things can happen. My uncle would kill me if I tarnished the Malfoy name." She replied, making him frown.
"How would he know?" Oliver asked, his voice low.
"He has spies everywhere," She murmured, before standing quickly,"I-I need to go. If he found out I was talking to a Gryffindor, he..." She trailed off, going to walk away.
"Celeste!" Oliver called, causing her to turn around.
"See you around, Wood." She said quietly, before she walked away.
Oliver couldn't believe he had talked to the girl and she had been so sweet and open towards him. He never dreamed he'd get that far, but he actually did it. With a grin, he stood up and ran to find his friends. He wanted to tell them the good news, but he also wanted to figure out a way to save Celeste from her prejudice family...
