The day had come for Celeste to meet Mr. and Mrs. Wood. She was very worried, but she was going to at least pretend that she wasn't as nervous as she really was. Oliver had told her to be herself, and Lupin had informed her that she needed to dress like she would for any date she'd have with Oliver, and not to treat it like a formal Malfoy dinner she'd have to endure when she was younger.
(Outfit in media!)
Celeste had taken almost an hour on her hair, makeup, and outfit, since she didn't want to look like a scrub. She had asked Lupin five different times what he thought about her outfits as she changed them, until her final outfit. He practically had to yell at her to pick the outfit and be happy with it. The night was a full moon, so Lupin wouldn't be home when she came back from the Wood's manor. If things went well, Oliver would be coming back to her manor as well.
About thirty minutes after she finished getting ready, Oliver came to the manor to bring her to his manor. He had chosen to apparate instead of floo, since he didn't want anything to mess up Celeste's pretty outfit. She had tried so hard to look pretty, and he didn't want her to mess it up and be upset; though he thought she was absolutely beautiful in anything she decided to wear.
Celeste and Oliver arrived at the Wood's manor a few minutes before the dinner was actually scheduled to begin. Oliver held Celeste's hand, as he lead her into the manor with a grin on his face. He was sure his parents would love her, since he had told them so much about her over the last few weeks. Matter of fact, his parents would tell him that he needed to slow down with how much he told them about her, otherwise they'd have nothing to talk to her about when they'd finally meet. His parents were almost excited to meet the girl, even after hearing who the girl was related to.
Oliver had explained all of that as well, and his parents were very understanding. They had the belief that not everyone was like who they were related to. Celeste could easily be one of the nicest people they would ever meet, according to Oliver's opinions and stories of the girl. They knew how hard of a life Celeste had, and they hoped to make things just a little easier for her, instead of being evil like Celeste's family.
"Mum! Dad! I'm back, and I brought Celeste!" Oliver exclaimed, as he opened the front door.
"Oh, come in!" Mrs. Wood called,"We're in the kitchen!" She added, and Oliver smiled brightly.
Celeste let out a nervous breath, before she followed Oliver as he pulled her into the kitchen. In the kitchen sat a man that looked identical to Oliver, but he did look a bit older than Oliver. Mr. Wood had a few lines on his face to mark that he was older, as well as the fact that most of his hair was grey. Mrs. Wood shared features with Oliver as well, but not as much as Mr. Wood. Mrs. Wood had dark hair like Oliver; hair that Mr. Wood shared when he was younger.
"Hello, Celeste, it's so good to finally meet you." Mrs. Wood commented, as she pulled the young girl into a hug.
"Oliver has told us so much about you. I feel like we've known you for years with how much he's boasted about you." Mr. Wood added, and Celeste smiled.
"It's nice to meet you both, too." Celeste replied, causing the couple to smile brighter.
"I have to say, I'm surprised my boy finally got you," Mr. Wood commented, chuckling to himself,"He has fancied you for years; use to write home about you all the time, and when he came home for holidays, all he'd talk about was you and quidditch, sometimes his friends made small cameos in his stories." He added jokingly, causing Oliver to blush slightly.
"Speaking of quidditch," Mrs. Wood began, turning to the girl,"Oliver mentioned that you use to play quidditch, and that you were offered a spot with the Holyhead Harpies." She said, causing the girl to nod.
"Yes, I played quidditch for a few years, and the Holyhead Harpies did offer me a spot on their team. I decided not to take the offer yet. They told me I can take the offer whenever I want, but for now I've decided to open my own shop." Celeste replied, and Mrs. Wood smiled.
"What type of shop?" She asked excitedly, as her eyes shined with curiosity.
"A chocolate shop. I've been making so many different types of chocolate for weeks, and making new desserts with my chocolate. Oliver and his friends gave me the idea, and I knew for a fact that a chocolate shop was what I wanted to do. If it doesn't work out though, I'll be taking my position in the Holyhead Harpies." Celeste replied, and Mrs. Wood nodded with a smile.
"Well, let me know when you open up shop, and I'll come by," Mrs. Wood said,"Actually, do you mind making some chocolate and sending it over? I'd love to try some, and I'd love for you to make some for Christmas this year." She added, and Celeste nodded with a big smile on her face.
Oliver watched the interaction between his beautiful girlfriend and his parents. He was so happy they got along, and he was glad that there wasn't any awkwardness between them. He had been a little worried that things were going to be awkward, but other than the odd wisecrack his father gave about him, everything seemed to be working out fine. Honestly, Oliver felt like Celeste belonged in the family. He really loved her, even if he hadn't actually told her those words yet. He could practically see their future playing out in front of him, and he couldn't be happier...
