Celeste had packed what little things she needed to bring back to the Manor with her, but she left the rest of her things in her dorm room. Her roommates knew better than to take any of her things or go snooping, since she'd easily hex them into oblivion. Most people respected Celeste anyway, since she was such a nice person, and she wasn't two faced like most of the other Slytherins.
"Mother has decided to throw a ball this year." Draco commented, as he and his cousin walked to the train.
"Most likely to find my future husband, against my will of course." Celeste replied, making Draco frown.
"Don't worry, Celeste, they'll have to get through me first." He said, causing the girl to smile.
Celeste was rather proud of her cousin. Though Draco grew up hearing and learning such terrible things, he was still a sweet boy, at least, he was to her. Even if he wasn't, she'd still love him regardless. He was practically her little brother, and nothing would make her hate him, especially his parents.
"Go and sit with your friends. I know you don't want to sit with me." Celeste commented, and Draco smiled.
"I'll see you when we get off the train." He replied, causing the girl to nod.
Once Draco had walked away, Celeste stepped on to the train and headed towards her compartment. Mattheo and Regina were unable to go home for the holidays, which disappointed Celeste, but she was more disappointed when she was told that Gretchen had to sit in a different compartment for the ride back to Kings Cross. Gretchen had a first year cousin named Dennis, and he was going to Gretchen's for the holiday, so she had to ride with him. She would make him move to her and Celeste's compartment, but she knew he'd want to sit with his friends, so she decided to toughen up and sit with first years for the ride. She knew it would only have to happen for one ride, so she was going to suffer through it quietly.
Celeste sat in her compartment alone, but she was fine with it. It gave her time to come up with retorts for whenever Lucius had the audacity to speak to her. She was still pissed at him, so she wasn't going to let him off lightly. As she sat waiting for the train to move, she heard a light knock outside of her compartment. Looking over, she felt herself raise an eyebrow when she seen who was standing outside of her compartment.
"I seen you were sitting alone, and I figured you could use some company." Oliver commented, as he entered the compartment.
Percy and Weston entered after him, sitting across from the two.
"Danny is staying at Hogwarts for Christmas, so we needed one more person to make it even anyway." Weston said, chuckling lightly.
"You know the three of you could get me into a lot of trouble with my uncle and aunt, right?" She commented, causing the boys to frown.
"Well, they don't have to know. Besides, we can just cover the window and nobody will know we're in here if you want." Percy replied, but Celeste simply shook her head.
"Don't worry about it, I'm mad at my uncle anyway. I have been all year, so he'll just have to get over this if he doesn't want me being an even bigger bitch over the holiday." She said, causing the boys to laugh.
"Why are you mad at him?" Weston asked, furrowing his eyebrows.
Weston didn't know as much about the Malfoy family as Percy and Oliver did, but he knew Lucius Malfoy wasn't a guy to play with.
"First, he mad me mad when he caused me to lose my friendship with Percy's brother, but I have somewhat gotten over it. The beginning of this school year though, he had the audacity to tell me that him and my aunt want me to be more ladylike, so they're making me do etiquette classes during the summer, and I had to drop quidditch. I heard from Draco today that my aunt is having a ball this year, which makes me even more angry. They're trying to find the perfect wizard to marry me off to, which I do not agree with." Celeste stated, causing the boys to shake their heads.
"You were Charlie's friend, right?" Percy asked, and Celeste nodded.
"He and I would talk about dragons together." She replied, a reminiscent smile on her face.
"I could always send him an owl explaining everything, or you could. He's in Romania at the dragon sanctuary. He works with the dragons now, as well as other magical creatures." Percy commented, making Celeste bite her lip.
"I don't know. I think it's better if I don't speak to him for now, at least, until after the holiday. If Uncle Lucius found out, I'd be in a lot more trouble than I was when he first made me stop talking to Charlie." Celeste replied, causing Percy to frown.
Percy was going to send a letter to Charlie anyway, even if Celeste didn't know about it. He was going to tell Charlie that the girl was sorry for leaving the friendship, and that she still wanted to be friends, as long as they kept it from her family. Celeste trusted Draco with her life, but she knew he couldn't know anything about what she had said, or who she was hanging out with. If he knew about the Gryffindors, he would most definitely tell her aunt and uncle.
She didn't know if she even considered the Gryffindors her friends yet, even if they were rather nice to her. She knew Gryffindors could play tricks on Slytherins by pretending to be friends, only to stab them in the back later, but she didn't know if these three Gryffindors were like that. They seemed rather trustworthy, even though she didn't know them well. By the end of the school year, she knew she'd definitely make a decision...
