As the weeks went on, more and more whispers were heard around Hogwarts. Celeste wasn't sure what to believe, but she had tried to ignore everything for the most part. She had skipped Halloween, though it was one of her all-time favorite holidays. She was still furious with her aunt and uncle, and she secretly wished they'd be bitten by Buckbeak for the way they'd been acting towards her. She didn't understand why they could treat her like she was rubbish, but when she ignored them she would be punished severely.

Honestly, life in the Malfoy family was getting harder and harder, but there was absolutely nothing that Celeste could do to save herself. She could run away, but they would easily find her because she still had the trace on her. She would have to wait until she was seventeen, and honestly that was going to be the longest wait of her life. She still had about a year until she was seventeen, which was a lot longer than most people would think. It wouldn't have felt like forever, if she wasn't being tortured every other day in some form or another.

Gretchen and Regina had still continued to try and spread rumors about Celeste, but nobody with a brain believed the lies. After a few weeks, people began to spread their own rumors about the two girls. Even the Slytherins began to make terrible accusations about them; ones that could make anyone cry if they heard them. Multiple said the two girls were jealous of Celeste, which was obvious. Some said the two girls were caught shagging muggle-born girls, so they were disowned by their own family. A few even said the two girls had feelings for Celeste, and were angry that she pushed them away.

Everyone seemed to believe that Celeste had outgrown the girls, and was planning to stay closer to smarter Slytherins; such as, Mattheo Riddle and Draco Malfoy. Draco was young, yes, but the Slytherins believed Celeste was taking him under her wing to teach him everything he needed to know about being a pureblood Slytherin. Obviously she wasn't, and if she was teaching him anything, it would be to accept everyone, but she let people believe what they wanted to believe.

Oliver could tell that Celeste was becoming more and more closed off from the world as the Christmas holiday quickly approached. She was terrified to go home, and if he was able, he would've brought her home with him. She'd be safer with him, and he was absolutely sure of it. He knew she was being tortured and abused and home, and he wanted to protect her in any way that he possibly could. He just wished she would actually pay more attention to him to realize that he was actually trying to help.

There was only a week before the Christmas holiday break, and Celeste's stomach was sick with nerves. She couldn't even force herself to eat anything, because she would throw it up soon after eating it. Luckily, she was able to force herself to drink pumpkin juice, otherwise she would've been dehydrated and malnourished, which would probably cause her to pass out and be sent to the hospital wing. She hated the hospital wing, mostly because Madam Pomfrey asked too many questions about her bruises and such, but the girl knew that the woman was just trying to help her.

Celeste wasn't one to ask for help, and she didn't really like telling anyone the truth about what was happening to her. Sure, some people would see her bruises, her scars, or the fact that she was practically skin and bones, but she didn't have to outwardly tell them everything that was going on with her. If she had to tell anyone, she'd probably throw herself into the Black Lake. She refused for anyone to know the truth, since she knew it would be worse for her later if they found out.

Celeste could feel eyes on her, but she ignored them. She had a feeling it was Oliver and his friends, but after receiving a letter a few days ago about suspicions of talking to a half blood, she tried to completely cut them from her communication. Honestly, she had no idea how her aunt and uncle heard the rumor, but she made sure to shut it down quick. She didn't need the extra torture from them when she arrived back at Malfoy Manor for Christmas.

Oliver watched her from afar, his eyebrows furrowed and his lips were in the shape of a frown. He could tell the girl was ignoring him, but he didn't know why. He had made sure that he wasn't seen any time that he had spoken to her. He wondered if Gretchen and Regina had told Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy about him and Celeste having a couple conversations. The two girls didn't have any concrete evidence though, so he didn't know if the Malfoys believed them.

Celeste had told her aunt and uncle that the two girls were lying. She had also told them that the girls were trying to purposely sabotage the Malfoy name because they wanted to be higher up in ranks. Her uncle believed her right away, so he had sent owls to the girls' parents. The girls recieved howlers the very next day, and they were mortified when the entire Great Hall stared at them.

Celeste had watched them with a smirk on her face, as the two girls cried and acted as if they had done nothing wrong. The howlers had told the girls they were being punished when they came home for the holidays, and though Celeste knew how terrible punishments could be, she knew the girls deserved to finally be punished for something. When Oliver had seen and heard the howlers, he knew Celeste had tried to take control of the situation. He just didn't know how far Gretchen and Regina were willing to go to sabotage Celeste...
