After finding out about the close call Oliver had with the Death Eaters, Lupin decided he couldn't wait any longer. He didn't want to tell them about the Order. He didn't want to subject Celeste into having to see her father. He didn't want to have the potential chance of losing them on a mission. Honestly, the chance of losing them scared him half to death, but he knew he couldn't keep it a secret any longer. Besides, Mr. and Mrs. Wood were Order members, they just didn't attend any meetings. They worked on the outside, collecting information and sending it to Dumbledore.
Anyhow, Lupin had called for a "family meeting" a few days later, since there was going to be an Order meeting the next day, and it was the perfect day to tell them and allow them to get ready to attend the meeting. Celeste and Oliver had stayed up late into the night, since Celeste had practically kept the boy awake all night telling him about some new ideas she had for her shop. Oliver loved listening to her talk, so he never told her that he was tired, he just let her talk until she eventually fell asleep.
"What's this family meeting about?" Celeste asked, as she grabbed herself a cup of coffee.
"I've been hiding something from you and Oliver." Lupin said, catching Celeste and Oliver's attention almost immediately.
"Do you finally have a girlfriend?" Celeste asked, a smile coming to her face.
"Did you get a girl pregnant?" Oliver questioned,"Are you secretly married?"
"No," Lupin answered, giving the couple a scowl,"I have not kept that big of a secret from you two." He replied, making the couple frown.
"That sucks." Oliver murmured, making Celeste laugh.
"Than what's the secret, Moony?" Celeste asked, causing the werewolf to sigh.
"I'm a part of this secret organization named the Order of the Phoenix. They're run by Dumbledore, and we go on missions to try and capture dark wizards and collect information that could lead us to You-Know-Who." Lupin stated, causing their eyes to go wide.
"Are you serious?!" Celeste asked, her voice raising a bit.
"There's more," Lupin murmured, making the couple sigh,"Dumbledore and most of the other Order members want you two to join. I don't, but I want to keep you two safe, and being in the Order isn't safe."
"They want us to join? Why?" Oliver asked, grasping Celeste's hand in his.
"Dumbledore believes that having younger eyes on some missions may be more helpful. You both are very highly trained, and had top marks in all classes, not to mention your exceptional experience on a broom. You two would be good assests." Lupin answered honestly, though he didn't really want to, but he figured lying wouldn't help him.
"When is the next meeting?" Celeste asked, curious about how often they meet.
"Tomorrow, and we try to meet as often as possible, especially when we recieve new information," Lupin replied, before turning directly to his goddaughter,"Celeste, there might be a reason for you not to want to join." He commented, making the girl frown.
"What?" She asked, her eyebrows furrowing.
"The meetings are held at Grimmauld place, that's the Order's headquarters." He said, causing the girl to frown.
"That's the Black family home. My father--" She began, but cut herself off abruptly.
"He's there. That's where he's hiding, and so he's always there, and he's at every Order meeting. The Weasleys and Hermione are there now, staying the summer so Mr. and Mrs. Weasley can be present for all meetings." He stated, causing the girl to sigh.
"I-I'm going to need a minute to think about it." Celeste murmured, and Lupin nodded.
"Take all night if you need, the meeting isn't until five tomorrow evening." Lupin replied, trying to ease Celeste's anxiety over potentially seeing her father.
Celeste wanted to join to try and take down as many dark wizards, and possibly You-Know-Who, if she was able, but seeing her father made that choice hard. She didn't want to see the man. He was horrible, and she wished she wouldn't have to see him. Actually, if she was honest, she sort of wished that he was different, that he was a better father and actually loved her. At the same time though, Celeste really didn't care to even consider what he would've been like if he'd been different.
She pretty much hated him more than she ever thought possible, but obviously that didn't matter to him. He had Harry Potter—the son of his dead best friend—and that's all he seemed to care about. Over the time she got to know Harry a little better, she started to realize that she couldn't completely blame him for the way her father acted towards her. He wasn't even around yet when Sirius first started acting like a horrible father. It wasn't Harry's fault that Sirius only wanted to be around him and love him instead of his own daughter.
Celeste spent the rest of the day and the entire night thinking about what she should do. She didn't want to see him, but she did want to help save the world. She didn't want to interact with him, but she had to be at a meeting to get all the information she needed for a mission or in general.
Oliver tried to help her calm down, since he knew she was stressing out, but there wasn't much he could do. He didn't want to make her choose one decision or the other. Obviously, he helped her think of the good and bad things for each decision, since she had asked him for help, but her decision was going to purely be based on her opinion and not on his. She would eventually be upset if she chose the wrong path, and he would be mad at himself if he was the reason she was upset. For now, Sirius was the reason she was upset, and Oliver hated the man for it...
