Three weeks before Hogwarts was scheduled to begin another year, an attack happened in the town Oliver was staying for one of their quidditch matches. Nothing really had happened to most of the quidditch team, but a muggleborn on the team had been hurt. After that, Puddlemere United decided that would be their last game of the season. They would resume practices in a few months, once they were sure their team members were safe.
The day after their last game, Oliver came home, and Celeste had practically tackled him to the ground, wrapping her arms tightly around him. She was terrified that something would happen to Oliver, since he was a half-blood, and there had been stories arising that a few half-bloods had been attacked. One half-blood claimed it was because he didn't want to be on the dark side, but most people were believing that You-Know-Who's followers were just acting up as a way to cause mischief in the wizarding world. They didn't believe that the Dark Lord was actually back.
"I was so worried. I thought something bad was going to happen to you." Celeste murmured, as she squeezed Oliver just a bit tighter.
"I'm fine, love," He replied, kissing her cheek,"I'll be here for a while, and we'll all be safe." He added, and the girl nodded.
"Oliver?" Lupin questioned, as he exited the kitchen,"What are you doing back?" He asked, causing Celeste to turn towards him.
"Don't you remember the article I showed you yesterday? The town getting attacked, and a quidditch player being injured?" Celeste asked, and Lupin nodded.
"That was the town I was in for the quidditch game, and the player that was attacked was a muggleborn on my team." Oliver said, making Lupin's eyes widen.
"Merlin," Lupin murmured,"Are they making you go back?" He asked, but Oliver shook his head.
"We have a few months off, at least until they're sure it'll be safe for us to go back without being attacked for our blood status," Oliver answered,"Even if they believe You-Know-Who is back or not, they're still worried that his followers are hurting non-purebloods to show they're still loyal to the dark wizard." He added, causing the other two in the room to sigh.
"Sweeney is making tea, if you two want some." Lupin commented, before he lead the two towards the kitchen.
When Sweeney seen the couple, the house elf quickly started making tea for them as well. Celeste had been in the living room when Sweeney started making tea, so the house elf was unsure if the girl wanted any or not. Once the tea was finished, the elf put the cups on the table, before aparating out of the room. Celeste and Oliver joined Lupin at the table once they had their tea.
"Are you going to get back to playing quidditch again, or are you going to take a year off after the attack?" Lupin asked, causing Oliver to sigh.
"I want to go back, and I know I can protect myself--" He began, but Celeste cut him off.
"It doesn't make me any less worried about you, Oli. It might be a few months before you go back, but I doubt anything will be safer. I have a feeling everything's just going to get worse before it gets better." She said, making Oliver nod.
"I know, I have the same feeling, but I can't just quit doing what I love, just because a dark wizard and his crazy followers are out to hurt anyone and everyone that they deem as unworthy or traitorous." Oliver replied, and Celeste merely sighed.
She knew there was very little chance she'd ever be able to change Oliver's mind about going back when he was given the chance. She knew if she was in his position, she'd do the same thing. To be honest, she would be wrecked if her chocolate shop was taken away, even just for a few days, so she understood why Oliver wanted to go back. There was even a chance in the future that Celeste may want to be on the Holyhead Harpies team, and she knew she'd be devastated if she had to stop playing because of Death Eaters.
"I'm going to make a nice dinner. I think the three of us could do with a home-cooked meal." Celeste commented, and the two men nodded.
Celeste did cook often, but most of the time it was something small, or she would ask Sweeney to cook if she was too tired. To be honest, Celeste was often too tired after work to make an extravagant meal, but today she had decided to make one. Oliver deserved it after everything he went through, and she and Lupin deserved it as well, since they were stressed from all the news they'd been hearing about disappearances and attacks—not to mention the long nights they'd have to spend often at the shop finishing orders.
"Don't run yourself into the ground, Angel, I know you're tired." Oliver said, making Celeste sigh.
"I have to get use to being tired, Oli. Besides, it'll be a lot worse once the students go back to school. My orders will most likely double." She replied, causing him to chuckle.
"Have you heard from Draco?" Oliver asked, and the girl shook her head.
"No, but as soon as he gets back to Hogwarts, I'm reaching out to him. I know all of this is really bothering him, and I need to see if there's anything I can do to help. If he says it too much for him at the manor, I may just have to bring him here," She rambled,"I hope you two are okay with that." She murmured, causing the men to simply nod.
"He's your family, Celeste, and we'll never ask you to turn your back on him." Lupin replied, making Celeste smile as a reply.
She was really worried about Draco, and she knew anything could happen to him at home now that the Dark Lord was back...
