No, he doesn’t want to drink anymore. His heart has already been broken countless times by the same woman, he wouldn’t risk his liver too.
It has been a tormenting couple of months for Damien and he knows he has already lost.
XZ is leaving and she’s taking Nereo with him.
He heard that XZ is leaving tomorrow and Nereo will follow her next week.
Pakiramdam ni Damien ay ang tanga, tanga, tanga niya. Ang tagal niyang hinintay bumalik ang mga alaala ni XZ ngunit mukhang kahit bumalik pa ang mga iyon sa hinaharap ay wala na talagang pag-asang bumalik pa si XZ sa kaniya.

He already cried all the tears he thought he has. He already shouted all the curses he could possibly know. He already punched, kicked, and all other ways he could hit his punching bag. He already drank all the liquor his liver could handle but the pain just won’t go away.
He can’t stop asking himself, how did everything end up like this?
He clearly remembers how fast his heart beat when he saw the beautiful woman in a maroon dress that one indelible band night. It was like in the movies, when the leading man walks towards the leading lady amid the crowd and they would lock-eyes.
But that’s not how it happened. He didn’t approach her, he just glanced at her from afar that night. He waited weeks until he finally introduced himself to her and he did not do it of his own will, he did it because he was obliged to do so when one of their orgmates set him up with her. He was too nervous to talk to her but when he got to know her, he realized that talking to her was the easiest thing to do and being with her was the best feeling in the world.
It didn’t take him too long to finally get her that’s why maybe everyone was right, he took her for granted and he’s just realizing it now... when she’s already gone from his life.
Still wearing his maroon polo, jeans, and shoes, Damien threw himself in the pool and let his body float in the water. He stared at the ceiling.
He’s the only child of Bill and Aimee Lacerda. They give everything he wants and he has all sorts of things but they just can’t seem to make up for the hole that Damien’s feeling in his heart.
The helpers in his house usually leave him alone that’s why when he heard someone speak, he was startled. Nang tumayo si Damien sa pool at lingunin ang tumawag sa pangalan niya ay nagtaka siya nang makita si Eze.
“Eze?” nag-aalangan pang tawag ni Damien sa pangalan ng binata, wala siyang maisip na dahilan bakit siya pinuntahan ni Eze. “What are you doing here?”
Naglakad si Damien upang umahon na at puntahan si Eze ngunit hindi pa siya nakakailang hakbang ay agad din siyang natigilan nang marinig ang sinabi nito.
“XZ’ memories... they’re back.”
Muling napalingon si Damien kay Eze at ilang segundong napatitig lang sa kaibigan. Hindi siya makapaniwala. Napakaraming emosyon ang nag-uunahan sa kaniya ngunit sa huli’y labis na kagalakan ang namayani.
Kulang na lang ay lumipad ang mga paa ni Damien sa sobrang saya nang umahon na siya mula sa pool. Agad niyang niyakap nang mahigpit si Eze na nagulat naman sa ginawa niya at dahil basang-basa siya.
