"What do we know about this so far?"

"Well, we know that's it's definitely a virus or disease of some kind. And we know that, for whatever reason, it seems to only be attacking clones older than 12 years of age."

"And Jesse was..."

"13, sir. Only a few months younger than Captain Rex."

"Rex, were you with Jesse when this happened?"

"Yes, sir."

"Do you remember what symptoms he was displaying?"

"As far as I could tell sir, he was pale, had a very high fever, and he seemed disoriented. Not to mention the trembling. He told me he wasn't feeling well and when we got up to go see Kix, he collapsed and went into a seizure."

"Was there any foaming?"

"Yes, sir."

"Do we know if this is contagious?"

"Not as of yet sir. It doesn't seem to be, as it seems to be hopping around randomly to any older clone. Not every clone that was present with the infected was infected with the disease."

"Did the other clones who died display similar symptoms?"

"No. It seemed to vary with all of them. Some had seizures without the foaming and for a few, the only symptom was sudden death."

Rex couldn't sleep that night. In fact, he didn't think anyone could.

They had spent most of the day in a meeting, being asked various questions by the Jedi.

The symptoms, who died from it, who all were being infected..

Things like that.

Watching Jesse die so violently was something that would never leave his head. And the fact that Cody was dead too didn't make it any better. His brother had been sick before and had made it through those just fine.

Rex pulled his knees up to his chest, silently sobbing, hoping no one would hear him.

But Fives knew he was upset. So when comforting arms draped around him, holding him close and crying along with him, he knew who it was.

Fives had been just as devastated by Jesse's sudden death as he had been.

Kix was definitely in the same boat as them. He had been working all day and all night trying to figure out how this could have happened.

"Has anyone survived?"

"Not as far as we know."

He sniffled, leaning into Fives' arms and wishing he would disappear.

"It's not fair.."

"I know.." Fives whispered. "I miss them too. I know.."

A few days later, the numbers kept growing. They had stopped going on missions. Thousands of clones were dying each day from this and that alone was terrifying.

The entire clone army was practically put on quarantine whether the virus was contagious or not. It was a safety precaution.

As of now, no one knew how this started. It's like it just suddenly appeared.

It was shortly after Fives and him had both gotten up a few hours later that Rex felt terrible.

And all of a sudden, all he could feel was dread as he lost control of his body, face paling as he stumbled against his brother, shaking snd showing some of the same signs as Jesse.
