Home Is Wherever You Are
===============It was early in the morning. The sun was peeking through the curtains and the birds were chirping its melody. The room was quiet, only the soft breathing of someone behind me was heard.
I slowly woke up—not wanting to wake the other sleeping person beside me—and tiptoed my way to the bedroom door. Once I exit I closed it softly before descending down the stairs to the kitchen.
The morning was quiet just the occasional bark of the neighbor's chihuahua alarming the neighborhood of the new day.
I immediately started my work, pulling all the ingredients out of the refrigerator and onto the counter near it. I started with washing all the vegetables before cutting it into pieces and heating the stove to cook some bacon. A simple sandwich would do for this breakfast and I know how much Taehyung loves sandwiches. So this would be a treat for him.
He had come late last night looking very exhausted. I guess taking over his father's business branch is really getting to him so he comes late almost every day. I didn't want to complain much since all I did was staying at home, he always tried to make time for me so it's not like I have something to complain about.
Our lives has been better ever since we graduated college. We decided to move to Los Angeles and bought a house in a calm neighborhood. We've honestly went to many different places since we decided to travel a little after graduating and I didn't even know that Taehyung would propose to me when we were at Italy. Hands down the best day of my life, the wedding following after.
Now we are 9 months in marriage, still very new with all the change in lifestyle. Even though nothing was really different from when we moved in together at college. The only significant difference was Taehyung is now my husband. It's as crazy as that, and up until now I haven't even settled in with the wife part yet. All seems so surreal, it still feels like I'm living in a dream.
As I casually hum a tune while keeping an eye on the bacon, I heard footsteps from the stairs. I didn't even need to look back to check who it was but I look back anyways to see his face.
His bed hair looked fluffy, eyes squinting to protect it from the harsh sunlight, and lips turned into a pout, wearing nothing but sweatpants that hung gracefully on his hips. Such a sight for sore eyes. He easily made his way towards me and wrapped his protective arms around my waist before settling his head in the crook of my neck.
"Good morning to you too, Tae." I giggled while flipping the bacon to the other side.
He only let's out a raspy hum before hugging me tighter. His soft tufts tickled the side of my face and his warmth radiates off of his body, it made my heart do somersaults. Even with how many years I have spent with this man, they can never really prepare me for Kim Taehyung. My heart always beats for him and I hope it always will. It's death do us apart or nothing at all.
"I'm just about finish with breakfast. You could go sit down."
Taehyung obediently sat down on the counter, eyes still squinted into little crescents as he yawned. The action successfully made me smile as I continued busying myself with breakfast. Once I put the sandwiches on seperate plates, I serve them on the counter and took two glasses and a carton of orange juice.
"Thank you, love." I nodded before digging into the sandwich whilst watching Taehyung taking a big bite.
"Whaf shwould we do wofay?" I asked with a full mouth of food inside.
