*2 months later*
"this is where I keep all her food and snacks, here is a meal plan for her, including what she eats and when she eats, all her medication is in the drawer above this one, if kukhona inkinga please do not hesitate to contact me". She nodds, I found a new house help to assist mainly with Ntokozo since I'm going back to work tomorrow. My baby has grown so much, she's a big girl now, 6 months is such a big deal to me. I'm so proud of how far I've come in this motherhood journey, this is definitely something I'd like to share with my bloggers. I've started attending therapy with Doctor Khanyile, Thando referred me to her and I must say she is a God Sent.
Thando and I have grown much more closer after the ceremony back in KZN. The ceremony went well which is what I'm most grateful for. I haven't spoken to either Muzi or Nkosi, and honestly I appreciate how things are at the moment. My mother in law has been consistent in coming over to check up on us and also asks for pictures Of the little princess every now and then.
My mother and I are getting better every day. We talk more often and she's been to my house for sometime now. She's actually the one that helped me with finding mam'Grace, my house help.
Today I'm training mam'Grace, she will arrive everyday at 7 and leave at 4, mainly because the house isn't big enough for me to have a stay in nanny, she works Monday to Friday and we consider weekends as overtime only if I have important errands to run like workshops to attend or school parent teacher meetings.
"alright mama, I think I've shown you everything and I see you no longer have any questions so I'll see you tomorrow morning, you may go back home for today" I say, "thank you so much madam, you have no idea how much this job means to me and my family, may God bless you and your mother too" I smile and nodd.
And yes, I won't let her call me by my name mainly because of all the stories I've heard about house helps who get way too comfortable and either start controlling your household or taking over everything so I feel this will maintain the professionalism between us.
After mam'grace leaves I decide to give my princess a bath. My baby took after me in a lot of things, she is light skinned like mommy, and hairy too, she has a lot of hair so now and again I plait it or do cute hairstyles on it. Today I decide to plait her what we used to call Benny and Betty mainly because I'll be at work most of the time and I wont have the time to wash her hair or keep it in a good condition.
Now the trick is to put her in the bathtub and let her play with the water while I find my way around her soft afro. After doing so, I take her out of the tub and she seems sleepy. This is exactly why I like giving her long baths.
I dress her up, it's a bit hot so I dress her up in a cute dress then feed her while she slowly falls into lala land. It's 14h25 she'll be up probably around 16h30.
I go downstairs, I'm famished so I make a sandwich then take out some chicken breasts to cook later. I'm channel hopping while going through my phone. I get a text from Tee(Thando) "girl, I'm hosting a little grad lunch, nothing hectic just a few friends and family and obviously you're family, hope to see you there, it's next weekend, there's plenty of space in my house no need to book a hotel"
Now as much as tee and I have grown so close, I doubt that the mabaso family will be pleased to see me there and I don't want to find myself in the same room as the 2 mabaso brothers so I just tell her that I'd love to but I'll have to confirm with her on Friday. It's Sunday today so I have the whole week to think of an excuse for not being able to come.
Let me call my mum it's been a while "mntanam" she answers, I smile "mama, ninjani lapho?" I ask, "Hawu siyaphila, but I miss my favourite grandchild" I laugh "don't let my sisters here that" we both laugh. We chat for sometime, I put her on loudspeaker while I cook dinner. I make creamy chicken pasta.
We end the call when the princess starts crying from the other room. As soon as I walk in she liftd her hands and smiles with her eyes still teary "mama" she says with so much excitement. These right here are the moments I hope to treasure for the rest of my life. I'm so grateful for this gift.
We go downstairs and I dish up for myself but best believe we ended up sharing my food. Because little Missy here just cannot let me eat in peace.
We spent the rest of the evening watching pepper pig until she retired to bed again at 8pm.This gives me enough time to do what I have been meaning to do for the longest time, house hunting. I need a more spacious house. I had a few houses that I pinned to go and view so maybe I should use the weekend for house viewing. I'll ask my mum to babysitting little Missy over the weekend.
I pick out an outfit for tomorrow. Baige Chino ankle length pants, a white formal blouse and baige block heel sandals.
I prepare my sandwich and lunch box. I pick 3 outfits for my princess for tomorrow incase it gets too hot or too cold and also a reserve outfit incase she messes what she will have on. I double check if she has everything she will need when I'm away at work tomorrow and then I retire to bed. At night we sleep together but during the day she uses her nursery just so she can get used to sleeping in her baby cot for when we finally get that spacious house.
