Something like a fairytale

Jaemin couldn't wait to get his morning coffee, it was his only time really coming out of the castle and now he had a purpose to, more than just getting coffee- but to see her.

She hadn't left his mind ever since their conversation and he was hoping to have another one with Haneul today. He could listen to her talk for the rest of his life but he didn't think that it would work between them since she would have to give up so much of her life just to be with him.

He walked down the street with a skip in his step and as he approached the cafe, he heard a loud crash followed by a lot of commotion.

"JISUNG! CAN YOU GET ME SOME TISSUES FROM THE BACK PLEASE!"

That was her voice.

Was she okay?!

He opened the door and was greeted with a coffee machine spatted Haneul who didn't look too impressed with the machine in front of her.

"Hey sorry, you might have to- oh...N-nana."

Jaemin burst out laughing as her face was covered in droplets of coffee.

Haneul couldn't help but follow suit as his laughter was heavily contagious.

"Looks like someone's having a lovely morning."

He said sarcastically, bringing his laughter to a gentle stop causing Haneul to do the same before nodding.

"Yeah, I'm having a great time. Do you want your order from last time?"

Haneul asked, already assuming that he always had his coffee that way as it was so specific.

"Yes please, but are you free to talk though, I really enjoy talking to you."

Haneul couldn't help but smile as her heart skipped a beat momentarily. She had heard many people say that they enjoyed talking to her or her company was quite pleasant to have but somehow, coming from him, it made her heart almost leap out of her chest.

"I might have some spare time, but it won't be until later I'm afraid."

Haneul had a bunch of customers to serve and she couldn't get out of it since there were only three people working and she couldn't do that to Miyoung or Jisung.

"It's fine, I'm fine waiting."

And with that Jaemin walked over to a table that was vacant by the window while he waited for her to finish.

By the time Haneul had finished, it was about noon and Jaemin had an important meeting that he had to attend so they ended up not talking. Haneul felt absolutely gutted that she had so many customers today but what could she do. She couldn't drop everything to talk with a guy she just met, so with that she carried on with her usual day until it drew to 6 pm.

While her cafe had been closed for about an hour now, Haneul liked the vibe of just staying back and experimenting with different flavourings for coffee ideas. She always did this as it would help her relax and enjoy her own alone time in her cafe without the bustle and anyones loud chatter. It was late wintertime which meant it got darker a lot earlier, so she had to leave earlier but in the summer, she stayed a lot later.

She grabbed her things as the clock struck 6 pm while the sun was setting fully, she opened the door and was immediately greeted with the fresh night air that engulfed her senses. Her breath created a smoke-like fog that she watched float up into the atmosphere while she began to walk down the street.

"HEY!"

A loud deep voice called from behind her, making her jump out of the fright before turning around to come face to face with the culprit.

"Oh, Jeno, it's you, you know you shouldn't do that to your poor cousin who is walking in the dark, I thought you were a creep oh wai-"

"Hey! your stupid brother was asleep when we were supposed to come together to come to get you. And how else was I supposed to get the attention of a girl who's just watching her smelly breath contaminate the atmosphere."

Jeno shot back, earning a slap on the upper arm from Haneul who he was now walking in step with. You see Jeno and Haneul had more of a sibling relationship than just being cousins, they had grown up together ever since her auntie and uncle helped look after her dad when he was struggling with her mother's death. They would often spend nights over at Jeno's house with his older sister who would babysit them occasionally.

"Whatever, Anyway, your back with Donghyuck, that's unusual, Am I allowed to know why?"

She asked out of curiosity, it was very odd that Jeno and Donghyuck were back at the same time as their contracts were different in which they barely had any time off in general let alone together.

"Well, we are having time off before the Kings birthday that's in a few weeks. Donghyuck has a big role to play in the organisation of it so he was sent away to clear his head before he has to fill it again."

Jeno explained as they walked in the cold night air, Haneul nodded in response as she could see why they were having time off.

"Well, maybe we should do something all together, With Unnie too?"

Haneul could feel the longing for attention begin to rise, all her family and friends were busy with their lives and here she was just working like clockwork. Day in, day out, she even opened her Cafe on Sundays just so she didn't have to sit in her house by herself and let her mind take over.

The loneliness was quite hard to bear sometimes, especially since her cat passed away a few months ago, her only source of comfort when her brother was at work.

"Yeah, we should, my sister is back in town so I'll ask her while you ask Donghyuck."
