"Just take the picture, I've always wanted to take a picture with a beautiful fountain like this."
She whined, making Chenle scoff, taking her phone before taking a few pictures so that she could choose the best one out of the selection. She skipped over to take the phone away from him to have a closer look at them.
They had been wandering around the castle grounds, exploring while they could together as neither of them liked big venues like this and weren't really used to them either. It had to have been around half eleven because everyone was called inside for the count down.
"I have to go find Jaemin, I want to be with him when the clock strikes midnight."
She explained, turning to the male that just rolled his eyes.
"You're not going to be one of those corny couples who kiss the first second of the year."
He retorted back earing the same eye roll from Haneul.
"Oh shut up and go find a girl to kiss, I'm off."
And with that, she filed herself into the crowd of people in search of the male she loved, but what she didn't know was that Jaemin had been checking on her every two hours or so, just to see if she was okay. She made it through the crowd but with no appeal, she hadn't sighted him and that made her sigh in defeat, she didn't want to be alone without him.
With that, she went up to her room on the third floor, out of the way of everyone, the way she liked it but as soon as she entered the hall she was pulled back by her wrist.
"HEY-"
Her eyes went wide.
"I know you've been looking for me, Love."
He smiled, gazing down into her eyes lovingly.
She smiled back at him with the same expression.
"I might have been, why?"
She teased, giving him her eye smile that made his heart jump like mad.
"Because I've been looking for you, Baby."
She felt a shiver run down her spine as his voice got deeper, he had never called her 'Baby' before so that meant he was up to something. Her heart raced as she looked into his deep brown eyes before he stepped closer to her. She stepped back and her back collided with the wall, she looked up at him as he towered over her, caging her against the wall.
"Oh, were you? Because I was looking for someone to be my first kiss of the new year, and I thought you would be perfect."
She replied before grabbing his wrist which had a watch on to check the time, it was 11:58.
"And right on time I was to save your lips from misery."
He replied, leaning in closer to her as he took the wrist she had grabbed and moved it so his hand was cupping her cheek. She looked down at his lips as their faces inched closer and closer. But in a swift movement, he had picked her up and her legs ended up wrapped around his waist and both his hands were on her bare thighs to support her. She was shocked at first but then ended up smiling mischievously down at him.
"You really are my knight in shining armour Na Jaemin."
That was the last thing she said before their lips met once again, just as the sound of fireworks and cheering was heard. They were fully in sync as normal, her hands were perched on his shoulders, they were the only ones on that level. His heart was racing, she made his heart thrill the ride of the giant roller coaster of love, she was thrilling. The tension soon changed from sweet to passionate need and love before she pulled away, looking down at him with a racing heart that beat in time with his.
"Jaemin... I Love you."
She had said it, finally after being interrupted several times and now that it was off her chest the anxiety grew. She watched his eyes closely while waiting for his response as they would tell her a lot sooner than his words. His heart was now going wild, those three words were like the foundation of his entire world which he was holding in his arms.
"I Love you too Haneul, so much."
Her eyes lined with tears, pulling him into a heartwarming hug was the only thing she could do as he held her. He placed her down carefully so that he could engulf her in a heartwarming hug, nuzzling his face into the nape of her neck to take in her lovely floral scent that he couldn't get enough of. She rested her head on his shoulder and completely relaxed into his hold, Haneul was on cloud nine at this moment in time and she didn't want time to move.
As the happy tears rolled down her cheeks, she sniffled, causing Jaemin to break away and look down at her tear-stained cheeks.
"Don't cry, Love, you'll make me cry."
He pouted, wiping away her tears with his thumb.
"I just don't want this moment to end."
She exclaimed, looking into his eyes with her teary ones that glistened in the light. He smiled knowing what she meant, he too didn't want this moment to end in case there was a bad moment in the future that would break them apart.
"Yeah, but if we stop time then we won't have any more beautiful moments in the future."
He replied, cupping her cheek with the same hand he wiped her tears away. He studied her features that he absolutely adored, she leaned into his touch before placing her hand over the top of his.
"What now?"
She asked, closing her eyes to soak up the feeling of his touch.
"Wanna go cuddle?"
He asked with a sweet smile.
"Okay well I'mma go get ready for bed and I'll be with you in a second Nana."
She responded all giggly, turning and walking straight into her room leaving Jaemin in the hall by himself. She shut the door behind her and soon as she did she placed her hand over her heart before scanning the room.
Something felt off but she couldn't put her finger on it.
