"So you're saying there's a guy outside our house? Right now, and you don't know who he is?"
Donhyuck asked from the other side of the phone as Haneul was hiding behind the corner she had just walked around.
"Yeah, And I'm going to approach him so if I get kidnapped, blame my taekwondo teacher for not teaching me good enough."
"HANEUL-"
"Calm down, I'll have you on the phone the whole time, now I'm going to see who it is."
With that, she began to walk closer and closer to the figure that she couldn't tell who it was because it was now dark. She kept her phone close to her ear so she could yell for help and would be heard by her brother.
"H-Hello, can I help you?"
She asked nervously as she approached the figure.
"Han, can you hurry up and open the door so I won't freeze to death."
A familiar voice asked with a shivering tone to it.
"YAH, JENO, YOU ABSOLUTE ASSHOLE, I THOUGHT YOU WERE SOMEONE COMING TO KILL ME!"
She scolded, slapping the living hell out of his upper arm.
"Donghyuck, it's only the second twat of the family."
She insulted, causing her brother to burst out laughing from the other line.
"HEY! Wait who's the first?"
Jeno was such a curious person, so that didn't surprise Haneul one bit.
"I'm talking to him."
With that, her brother stopped laughing and Jeno began to.
"HEY I'M-"
And she hung up.
"Come on let's get inside before we both freeze."
She ushered, unlocking the door and allowing Jeno into the warmth of her house. He smiled his signature smile as he followed her inside like a lost puppy before closing the door behind them.
"So what brings you here so late? And without a call or text?"
Haneul asked, walking into the kitchen to brew up some warm drinks for them both having taken off her coat.
"Well, It was kind of a last-minute thing because I'm allowed two days off since there's a big New Years' Party and I don't really play much of a role in it so, yeah. And my sister isn't home so I had no choice but to come here. Plus my phone died before I could contact you."
Jeno explained making Haneul smile at how he had no choice but to come here.
"You really are a twat, you should have come to my workplace not stand in the cold and I know there's a New Year's Party because...I'm going to be one of the caterers there."
Haneul smiled excitedly, tuning to her jaw dropped cousin before giggling.
"OH MY GOD, YOU'RE THE MYSTERY CATERER THAT'S AMAZING HAN!"
He squealed like a five-year-old at a fair just as he pulled her into a death crushing hug, she couldn't breathe but she was too excited to care at that moment in time.
"Jen- I-can't breathe dude."
She muffled before smacking his arm until he let her go, which worked because he let her go within seconds.
"Dude you might actually kill me one day."
She sneered as he smiled brightly, bobbing up and down with excitement for his cousin's great achievement. Haneul could only imagine what her brother's reaction would be to the brilliant news, she was the most excited to tell him because he had always wanted her to come to visit the castle and be with him for a day to see what life was like.
"So have you told Donghyuck yet?"
Jeno asked as she finished making both of them her famous honey and cinnamon hot chocolate with cream and chocolate sprinkles which she knew was his absolute favourite for some odd reason. It was one of the first drinks that she had made festively but it didn't do that well on the market so she slowly took it off her drinks menu but Jeno had always wanted her to make it as he enjoyed it so much.
"No, I haven't yet as some dumbass decided not to come to find me at my workplace instead of lurking outside my house like a creep."
She shot back playfully, earning a laugh from the so-called 'dumbass' Jeno. She then walked over to the kitchen table with her warm drink and pulled out her phone once again before clicking on her brother's contact. She let it ring before he picked it up.
"Hi, Haneul? What is it? is Jeno eating all your freshly baked goods?"
He teased as she heard him type away on his computer which she presumed was work-related and instantly felt bad about calling him again.
"Well Ummm, I wanted to tell you something but it can wait if you're busy?"
She blabbered nervously, taking a sip of her festive drink that she clearly knew Jeno was enjoying. He had the cream all over his upper lip and he literally looked like an adorable puppy as he looked at her waiting for Donghyuck's response.
"No, Han you're my baby sister, I'm never too busy for a phone call... unless I'm in a meeting but you know that. So what is it?"
He explained, making Haneul smile before putting him on speakerphone.
"Oppa, You know how there's a secret caterer for the New Year's Eve party?"
She giggled excitedly, knowing exactly what he would say.
"Yes, but how do you know?... unless."
"Yup, it's me Oppa. Can you believe it?"
She squealed, her brother's line went dead before she heard a knock at the door.
"What the? he just hung up on me? Asshole. I'll get it."
She grumbled, pushing herself up and going to the door with a sulky attitude before unlocking the door.
"What do you want- OPPA?!"
She squealed as her brother scooped her up into a massive bear hug in celebration while laughing merrily as they did so.
"I can't wait to take you to the Palace."
