Jaemin found himself walking around the palace grounds, utterly bored as preparation for the new years party was being assembled in the main halls. It had been a day since Christmas day and he still wasn't over it as the memory of her arms around him still left his skin all tingly.
"YAH! JAEMIN!"
A familiar voice called from the palace garden as he was about to walk straight past.
"Oh, Renjun, what are you doing out here?"
Jaemin asked as he spotted his foreign friend standing in front of his easel, painting away as he normally would on such a clear day. He was wearing a puffy coat, hat, scarf and gloves to protect him from the cold which didn't stop him from painting a beautiful landscape.
"I'm painting what else, what about you? Jeno and Donghyuck have been telling me about a certain romantic interest, is it true?"
Renjun asked, still having his full focus on his detailed painting in front of him.
"Yeah, it's true, I generally think I'm in love."
Jaemin replied with a sweet wide smile as he thought about the girl he had fallen madly in love with.
"Gosh, I can tell by that lovey-dovey smile that's written all over your face, she really has got you whipped. Just bring her to the Palace already so we can meet her, if she can make the Prince of Gemma fall under her spell then she must be a great person."
Renjun spoke monotonously, still very much engrossed in his painting after having just finished painting a very detailed flower.
"Well, umm, about that, she umm kinda doesn't know I'm the Prince..."
Jaemin announced hesitantly, Renjun paused for a second as he soaked in Jaemins words before placing down his paintbrush. Jaemin stiffened as he had never seen Renjun put down his paintbrush when talking to someone before regardless if he was really interested in the topic.
"Jaemin, Are you serious?"
Renjun asked, glaring straight into Jaemins eyes.
And that's when Jaemin knew Renjun was pissed.
"y-yeah-"
"HOW DOES SHE NOT KNOW!? DOES SHE NOT KNOW THE PRINCE'S NAME?!"
He roared, Jaemin had only witnessed Renjun get angry once and that was when Donghyuck ruined a painting of his that took him a whole month to do.
"I haven't told her because she would know. I had my reasons."
Renjun exhaled heavily before picking up his paintbrush once again and continuing to paint his painting as if nothing had happened.
"Jaemin, she's going to find out eventually so you better do it soon or otherwise she'll find out on her own and that could lead to several different outcomes."
Renjun explained monotonously as he was back to being engrossed in his painting.
"I know Renjun, I will tell her, after the New Year I will, I promise."
Jaemin exclaimed, he knew he had to but he couldn't quite take up the courage to do so.

Haneul found herself pacing up and down the cafe after having just closed it early due to an unexpected mail delivery.
"What do you think it is, we never normally get mail."
Miyoung questioned while watching her older friend pace up and down at the silver envelope with a nervous expression on her face. It had the royal crest on it which meant that it was from someone within the palace, which just made things worse.
"You open it, I know it's addressed to me but, I just- can't open it Mi."
Haneul asked, tossing the envelope at the female that caught it- just about. Miyoung wasted no time opening it.
"Dear Lee Haneul, the great creator and owner of the Hummingbird, We would... like to inform you... that you have been chosen to cater our New years Eve party on the 31st of December... OH MY GOD..."
Miyoung squealed, reading the letter out loud which made Haneul's jaw drop wide open.
"WHAT THE HELL! OH MY GOD, THIS IS AMAZING, but why would they want me? I'm not a chef I'm just a barista?"
Haneul questioned, knitting her eyebrows together in confusion.
"Maybe BECAUSE YOU'RE THE FAMOUS COFFEE MAKER OF GEMMA, DUH, And besides, I heard the Prince is a big fan of coffee so maybe he's a fan of yours. Dude imagine if you wrap the Prince around your finger?"
Haneul couldn't help but burst out in fits of laughter at her friend's words, her? wrapping the Prince around her finger? Ha, that would be impossible, or was it?
"Yeah, if I was in a fairytale, speaking of fairytales, we need to catch up on our animes that we have severely neglected for over a month now."
Haneul joked, taking the letter from her friend's hands and slotting it into her back pocket.
"Now, I'm going off home now to call my brother about this, He'll be thrilled to have me at the palace for a night. Have a good day Miyoung because we have our big reveal tomorrow."
Haneul chirped, grabbing her things and heading out the door with a skip in her step, she had always wanted to see inside the palace since she was young but because of her choice in work, she had never had the chance until now. She saw Jisung's car park up on the kerb as she walked down the street so that indicated that Miyoung was being taken home safely.
With that out of the way, Haneul could feel the excitement build up inside of her as she drew closer and closer to her house. She could just imagine her brother's excitement from the other line, how proud he would be of her to be chosen as a beverage server at the Royal New Year's party.
She turned the corner to her street and noticed a figure standing against her garden wall which made her quite anxious because if it was her brother then, it wouldn't be because he would have a key and go straight in. And it wouldn't be any of her cousins because they would have called her first.
So she was in danger.
