The "incident" killed our spirit. We hadn't sung a song in weeks, because we didn't feel like it and because every Glee club meeting was interrupted by hecklers. Our social status worsened, whilst Amy's popularity almost seemed to sky rocket.

Mr. Schue and Finn took our involuntary break as a chance to prepare for Sectionals. We already had some songs, some people, and some choreography in mind. It was nice to have a sense of purpose.

Tonight, I lacked that sense of purpose. I was staring at my phone screen, watching, waiting, for for Ryder's name to pop up. It'd been over a week since we last talked, and I had so much to catch him up on.

Then it appeared: Ryder Lynn. I answered the facetime call without a moment's hesitation."Hi!" I shouted, waving my hand frantically.

"Woah, calm down, Marls." He laughed, his eyebrows raised.

"Sorry, we just haven't talked in a while, and I missed you." I smiled, getting into my lying down position on my bed.

"My weeks been boring without you..." Ryder smiled, rubbing his eye tiredly. "Anything interesting happen to you over there?"

"Yes! Well, remember how I told you I had the lead for the pep rally assembly?" Ryder nodded. "Well, Kitty had to vomit so I went to the toilet with her while Angie took the lead. But... while we were in the bathroom, the new girl Amy unzipped her jumpsuit and showed the audience her...." I trailed off, trying to think of a word to use that wouldn't make Ryder laugh.

"Oh, okay..." he nodded.

"Now, people heckle at us when they pass the choir room."

"Well, I guess that'll be going on for a while." Ryder laughed.

An awkward silence took over the call.

"So..." I said quietly. "Did you have anything else to share about your life?"

Ryder thought for a moment. "Oh, there was that one thing. Today, me and the fam went down to a shop called Sheets and Things, right? And the manager there, she introduced us to her, and her name was Terri Schuester."

"Schuester?" I asked. "Like, Mr. Schue?"

"Well, when I told her about Mr. Schue, she said he was her ex-husband." Ryder gave me a knowing smirk.

I grinned. "Oh, my God."

"Yep," Ryder agreed.

I racked my brain for something else I could talk about. I remembered the conversation I had with Angie on the phone the night before. I know it was meant to be kept a secret, but... Ryder is my boyfriend, and he would find it interesting, and I'm sure Angie wouldn't mind...

"Hey, Ryder..." I started. "Can you keep a secret?"

"Of course." He replied.

"You know the new girl in Glee club, Angie?" Ryder nodded. "She told me that she's bisexual."

"Oh." Ryder nodded slowly. "That's, uh, cool, I guess."

"Yep." I said. The reaction wasn't what I expected. I immediately felt bad.

"Alright, Mar, I guess I better get going." I saw through the phone that Ryder began collecting some papers and shoving them into his huge homework binder. "I love you."

"I love you too." I smiled.

"Stop with the mushy stuff already!" I heard a voice call out from the lounge room.

"Shut up!" Ryder shouted, rolling his eyes.

"You shut up!" Adrian shouted back.

"Be right back." Ryder grinned and got up, leaving me on the phone to listen from the other room.
