Wait... what? He said he loved me. Oh, god. I could feel bile rising in throat as I froze in my spot, running my hand through my head. Why did I get so panicked easily?

Suddenly, the song that was playing ended and Principal Figgins came on stage. "I've got to go," I whispered, running to the side of the stage where Sugar and the rest of the prom queen candidates were standing.

Jake was standing at the table to the side with Angie by his side. I walked over to him because we were doing a duet of Guilty by Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb during the King and Queen dance. "Hey," I smiled, trying not to show the stress I was just previously having.

"Yo," Angie smiled, leaning against an amp. "I think that you two are going to be epic during this song. And I know this song because it plays on that oldies station like, all the time." She shrugged with a laugh before Principal Figgin's started talking.

"Welcome, students to the junior slash senior prom for this year." He said slowly, holding two, gold envelopes in his hand. "Would the prom King and Queen candiates please make their way to the stage?" The girls and the boys filed on the stage, all smiling at the large applause.

He announced the boy's first and it was some football player. Principal Figgin's went straight to the prom queen winner after that, pulling out a very familiar name. "Sugar Motta!" He declared. Sugar rushed forward and got the crown placed on her head, waving over at every Glee club member.

The King and Sugar walked down the steps, holding hands and they started dancing as soon as music began playing in the gym.

Jake and I rushed to the stage and began singing immediately, Jake hesitating for a second to squeeze Angie's arm.

Marley:

Shadows falling , baby , we stand alone

Out on the street anybody you meet got a heartache of their own

(Jake: It oughta be illegal)

Make it a crime to be lonely or sad

(Jake: It oughta be illegal)

You got a reason for livin'

You battle on with the love you're livin' on

You gotta be mine

We take it away

It's gotta be night and say

Just a matter of time

And we got nothing to be guilty of

Our love will climb any mountain near or far , we are

And we never let it end

I saw Travis standing quite close to Sugar and the boy, staring up at me with a small smile. I frowned and looked at Jake with a large smile, but his gaze was somewhere else, right on Angie. I didn't know what to do about Travis. I felt like I was going to throw up.

We are devotion

And we got nothing to be sorry for

Our love is one in a million

Eyes can see that we got a highway to the sky

I don't wanna hear your goodbye

Oh!

Jake:

Aaah!

Pulse's racing , darling
