Why was he here? He hasn't been in my life since I was four, and now he was trying to get back and become a part of my place? Why was here right now? What did he want from me?

"Marley, are you okay?" Jake called, holding onto my elbow lightly as we ran to the next song. I shook my head, trying to avert my gaze from my Dad.

"Fine," I smiled. Jake gave me a weird look before nodding and pulling me to my spot.

I felt stunned, like something had hit me in the face and I was still getting over it. He couldn't be here, could he? The last time I saw him was when I was four, and then it seemed he wanted nothing to do with me or Mom.

FLASHBACK

I was sitting in the lounge room of our house, happily having a tea party with my favourite stuffed toys; Mr. Teddy (who was a teddy) and Mrs. Pig (who was a pig and married to Mr. Teddy. They had a child together, called Frentus).

Mom and Dad were fighting in the kitchen, but I refused to listen. I didn't want to hear thier mindless fighting, so I blocked it out by singing to Mr. Teddy and Mrs. Pig.

As I sat on the floor, I watched Dad storm out the door, his face red and angry. I looked at the door for a minute, trying to piece together what had happened.

Mom walked in seconds later, picking me up. "Where's Daddy gone?" I asked as she kissed my cheek.

"Don't worry about it, sweetie."

FLASHBACK OVER

I came back to reality as the intro music rung through the auditorium. I almost missed my cue, but was on board as soon as it came around and began to sing like nothing was bothering me at all:

Marley:

I'm not usually the type of guy to call twice, and leave a message everytime (Travis:It's me again)

That's quite alright

I walked to the left of the stage, further away from Dad as Jake followed me, singing to me.

Jake:

And most days I just dust them off like that

Girls text me, you're the only one I text back

Cause you know where the party's at

All:

And I'm like, yeaaah

Everything you heard is true

Everybody knows I'm hung up on you (oh oh oh)

And I'm like, yeaaah

Telling other girls I'm through

Everybody knows I'm hung up on you (oh oh oh)

Travis, Jake and I all ran to the middle of the stage with the rest of the club behind us, and we sung to the audience, clapping our hands to the beat of the music. After the chrous, we all went our separate ways and I stayed in the middle, trying to ignore my Dad out the front.

Travis:

So big, this thing that we got going on

Riding round downtown where you take the top off, yeah

It turns me on

Marley:

And I'm like, woah
