Prom.

The night every girl dreams about... is it wrong that I hadn't been dreaming about it? Without Ryder here, I knew I wouldn't have a date to the prom, and Angie would be too busy with Jake to be my friend.

Mr. Schue told us that we would be singing at Prom this year and he also said that the two proms (junior and senior) were combined, so that meant no junior prom queen! I wouldn't want to be junior prom queen without Ryder being my king, though.

No one really said anything about a theme this year, so Mr. Schue just randomly chose songs for us to sing and he nearly gave Holy Ground to Kitty, but he didn't - after some of my convincing. I'm not too sure what he gave her instead, but I remember him saying that I'd be singing Enchanted by Taylor Swift. I was really happy that I was singing a Taylor song, but I wished Ryder was here to see me sing it.

He kept on going on about other songs for other people and he mentioned a couple of duets - I think Jake and I had one - but besides the song selections that afternoon's Glee club lesson was uneventful.

Right at that very second, I sat in Angie's room, rolling around on her bed while she sat on the floor with her crappy, LG mobile flip-phone blaring brightly in her face as she typed a message to someone.

"So, Prom," I sighed, plaiting my hair.

"Oh, yes," Angie chirped, throwing her phone on the ground and turning to face me. "I'm excited," Her attitude had changed quite a lot since I first met her and I was glad she was feeling happy again.

"Why? Is it because Jake asked you?"

"Not yet," Angie smiled, looking back down at her phone. "I didn't go to the prom last year at my school, so I'm hoping to go this year and just feel good about myself for once. I mean, my bruises have pretty much disappeared besides that big one on my back." She sighed, moving up onto the bed.

My curiousity got the best of me and I couldn't keep this question in any longer. "Why'd you move to McKinley?"

"One person at my school found out about my... job and I was bullied way to much, so I moved to McKinley." She shrugged, looking back down at her phone as it went off."Jake brought up prom!" She shouted excitedly, clapping her hands and replying to the message with a blush on her face.

"I wish Ryder was here to ask me," I sighed, leaning back and putting my head on her pillow.

"Sorry, dude," she said, glimpsing over at me.

"It's okay, I'm just going to try and ignore the fact my boyfriend is like, a thousand miles away from me and I'm going to just try and have fun while you dance with your future husband."

Angie was paying attention, so she didn't hear the last part of my sentence. "Travis has a really obvious crush on you, why don't you wait for him to ask you?" Angie suggested with a shrug.

"Nuh-uh," I said, sitting up suddenly.

"Why?" Angie asked, still not looking away from her phone.

"He's kissed me too many times for my liking. If I accept, he's going to think it's okay to keep making moves on me."

"Well, start up the 'Too Young To Be Bitter' club again. I heard it was taken down last year, but you could bring it back to life?" Angie suggested again.

"No, dude," I said, sliding off the bed.

"Fine, whatever." Angie shrugged.

"Do you think that Prom's going to be awkward?" I asked, staring at the plain wall in front of me.
