There are some moments in life when you're sitting on top of the world, and there are others where you feel like you're in a pit of despair.

Ryder and I hadn't talked in three whole days - his Mom took his phone and changed the wifi password... I was guessing it was something like 'Buyyourownwifiryder', judging by how much Ryder has told me his family watches Big Bang Theory.

I was upset, but I couldn't let it get to me - the girls and I's performance was tomorrow, and I needed to be "on top of the world"' to make our performance believable.

Angie knew I was feeling down and she'd be trying to cheer me up for the past day, even though she was still feeling partly miserable with her own life. (It was the fact that her bruises weren't fading and she was so embarrased them).

"Come on, Marls," she groaned, falling back onto the couch. "Don't throw yourself a pity party." She said, raising her eyebrows at me.

"Why can't I?" I whispered with a frown.

Angie sighed and stood up. "I'm going to put on another show with the stuffed animals in your room... it might not cheer you up, but it sure as hell cheers me up." She left the room and rolled her eyes at me.

"Marley, are you going to make her do that every hour?" Mom chuckled, sitting on the other couch.

"She wants to," I shrugged with a laugh.

"She's trying to make you feel better - she's repaying you for making her feel safe. The least you can do is try and feel happy,"

"It hurts," I sighed, sitting up. "I don't want to have this time apart! I need to tell him I love him!"

"I'm tired," Angie sighed, walking back into the room and falling on the couch. I sighed and crossed my legs, shaking my head at her. "I'm just trying to make you feel better. You seem so... sad and I don't like it." Angie said, grabbing onto a pillow and holding it against her chest.

"Sorry," I sighed. "What if you hadn't talked to Jake in three days?"

Angie shrugged and sighed, shuffling closer to me. "Come on, dude," she said, placing her hand on her knee. "We're singing Sitting on Top of The World, so you kind of have to be on top of the world."

"What if I'm not?" I smirked.

"Then we'll kick you out of our group, no biggie." Angie shrugged. I giggled and pushed her shoulder lightly. "Jeez, feisty," Angie laughed as my phone buzzed lightly in my pocket.

Ryder: Cant talk... will try tomorrow xo

The girls and I were in the bathroom the following day, getting ready for our performance in a couple of minutes.

We planned our outfits a couple of days earlier and we put all the responsiblity of making them on Kitty - her bitchiness was getting to us. The dresses were purple with a ribbon the same shade as the dress around the waist. They didn't have straps but the belt around the waist held them up. We wore matching shoes and had all painted our nails the same colour.

"Kitty, do I have my hair up or my down?" Sugar asked, fiddling with her hair.

"Down," she said, fixing up her own hair and dress. I was combing through my hair slowly with Kitty's brush and staring at myself in the mirror while the other girls rushed around.

I wasn't exactly on top of the world at the moment. Yes, I still had the pain that I hadn't talked to Ryder, but there was something else on my mind... Travis.
