Chapter 36 - Va Va Voom

I was sitting in Glee club that very afternoon, out the front of the room, Kitty at the back. I looked up at her and she gave me a death glare. 

I shook my head and looked at my book, trying to concentrate on the words Stephen King had written, rather than the situation I was stuck in. 

Finn then walked in with a smile, clapping his hands together. "Right now, we are going to have the New Direction's first sing-off for this year." Finn clapped lightly, looking from me to Kitty. "Kitty chose Nicki Minaj's, Va Va Voom, but that was too hard." Finn sighed. Thank the lord was all I could say.

"What? That was the deal!" Kitty screamed across the room.

"Kitty, it'd be unfair to Marley-"

"Everything's unfair to Marley." Kitty muttered. I smiled at Finn slightly who pulled out the hat Mr. Schue always uses.

"Now in here are lots of songs that Mr. Schue used to use for diva offs, so we're going to take one of those." Finn said, walking up to Kitty. "Take a song out." He told her, moving the hat slightly.

Kitty stuck her hand in and pulled out the first song on the list: "Va Va Vooom by Nicki Minaj." Kitty smiled, showing Finn the paper.

"Wha- That's not..."

"Read it and weep, loser." She snapped.  walking to the front of the room. "This is great. I have the home-field advantage." She laughed, watching me as I walked to the other side of the room. "Tip: diet drinks are a good thing." She said with a wink before the music started throughout the room.

I shook my hands nervously and rubbed them over my face. I only just knew this song - and unlike Kitty, I didn't know it word-for-word.

Kitty:

So I think that I'm going in for the taking

I was frightened about rapping; I never really have in my life. I was probably going to crash. I had this big gut feeling I would fail at it, but decided to give it my best try.

Marley:

I ain't even tryna find out who he dating

Marley with Kitty:
