Chapter 57 - Happy Days

I walked to school the next day and sat in Glee club. I was the first one there, which meant I was lonely for at least ten minutes. 

I sat there, on my phone, until Angie came in. I looked up at her and smiled. She made eye contact but look away. At least she didn't give me a death glare. 

I sighed and went back to my phone until everyone had gathered in the choir room, whispering filling the air. I tried to make out the whispers, but they were all inaudible to me and I just wished I had someone to talk to - particulary Angie but she hated me.

This morning was only a five minute meeting, so no performances or rehearsing. It was just for Finn to discuss stuff, and that's exactly what he did. 

Finn began talking about songs that were popular in 2011 and what the other Glee clubs would possibly be singing and who we would be versing, but I didn't really listen. No one was listening, judging by thier distant faces. Especially Angie.

The bell rang, knocking me out of my trance. "Okay, I'll see you guys this afternoon." Finn smiled, putting the paper in the office and waving to us as we left. 

Jake walked next to me, whispering to me. "Please?" He repeated quietly.

"Jake, didn't you hear me before? It was yesterday when I told you you have to wait!" I whispered, turning around and walking to my locker to get away from him.

I opened it and stared at the pictures of Ryder and I that I had stuck on the inside of my locker, remembering the fun times we had last year and at Christmas time, when everything was okay. I grinned, tugging out my books and walked down the hallway.

I was sitting in my maths class, where my teacher was handing out a revision sheet for science, when I saw Jake walk into the classroom and slip next to me, un-noticed. 

"Where were you?" I asked, trying to listen to the teacher and Jake at the same time.

"I was in the library, I needed to search up stuff." Jake mumbled.

"What did you need to search?" I asked as the teacher explained how many of the questions we needed to do. 

"I thought the student records might give me an idea-"

"Oh, god, Jake," I sighed, pulling out my pen and writing down everything in my book.

"-and I was searching up Angie before I got caught, and there was nothing!" Jake sighed.

"Jake, don't be nosy, please!" I whispered loudly, giving him a glare. 

He nodded and opened his book, copying down everything he missed from my book.

After school, I ran straight to Glee club. Tonight's lesson went until five, and that was one of the extra long lessons.

I was the last in the room, and my seat was taken by Kitty, her McKinley sports bag and her school bag. 

I sighed and ran to the seat next to Jake, catching a quick glimpse of Angie. She was looking down at one of her exercise books and writing something down. I wish I'd caught a glimpse, but I was rushing too much. 

Finn came into the room minutes later, and everyone was silent. "Oh, wow, silence! I feel like the pope!" Finn shouted with a smile. I was the only one to actually laugh and everyone looked at me. I sighed and rested my head on my hand, sighing to myself when the room went silent again. 

“Anyone?” Finn asked, raising his hands. No one said a word. It was deadly silent in the room. I looked back to Angie to see if she was even contemplating singing since this was our last lesson. She gave me a glare before handing me a piece of folded paper, leaning back in her seat and staring at me.
