Request from GSBUBLE
"Oh Max. There's a reason why I left a note that said not to touch it until I arrive" Higgabottom told him disappointed and shaking his head. Max held his head low as his eyes glanced at Leena, who was still angry with him. The lioness was leaning against the desk with her arms and wings crossed over her body, glaring at him fiercely.
"I have yet to test out yet so unfortunately I don't know how long those wings will last. My greatest concern is whether it will ware off or not" he explained to them concerningly. Leena stared at him shocked.
"You mean I'm stuck like this?!" She asked upset, her wings unfolding and hitting the desk. She winced in pain and rubbed her wing to soothe the pain. Max and Higga stared at her concerned.
"Be careful Leena. These wings are now part of your body. You must take care of them and ensure no damage is done" the owl explained to her catiously. He knew too well that wings are delicate body part and the slightest blow can really damage it.
"Come on Leena. Why don't we go somewhere with more open space?" Max suggested to her. She turned to him angrily.
"Are you kidding? Everyone will see me like this Max! They're going to see me looking like some weirdo or freak that they will either make fun of or be afraid of! And it's all because of you!" She yelled at him furiously, pointing at him.
Max winced at her voice and the guilt that he brought this on her. "I'm sorry. Really. I figure out something" he tried to assure her but she didn't believe Jim.
The lioness stormed over the window and opened it. "Leena! What are you doing?!" Max asked alarmed, already having an idea what she was up to. Both him and the professor quickly rushed to her to stop her.
But the lioness has spread her wings and tooked off flying before they could reach her. "Leena!" Max called out to her, his arm out as he watched her get farther and farther.
"Go after her Max! Make sure she doesn't get hurt! I'll stay here and try to figure out how to undo this" Higgabottom told him as the lion climbed up the window and jumped down the roof, sliding on the tiles and landing the ground. The lion tooked off in search for his friend.
Meanwhile in town...
Spike was carrying a very tall sandwich which wobbled as he struggled to keep balance. Twitch was moving all around him, his arms out incase it might fall.
"Oh Spike. Why did you make it that tall? We should of done at the tree house" Twitch complained annoyed, keeping a close eye on the towering sandwich.
However, his eyes caught sight of something in the sky. "Huh?" He squinted them to get a closer look and he could make out these blue wings. But he also could make a familar someone.
"Wait a sec. Is that Leena?!" Twitched asked shocked, his eyes bulging. "Oh Twitch!" Spike yelled out alarmed as he bumped his sandwich into the chameleon, and it fell down.
Now the two were in a pile of bread, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo and salami. Twitch stood up with lettuce on his head, looking back at the sky. "Spike I think I saw Leena flying just now" he told him dumbfounded, pointing up to the blue sky.
Spike sat upright, with a bread and cheese smacked on his face. "Are you sure that the sandwich didn't hit tour head and make your see things?" He asked confused.
"Guys!" The two heard a familar voice and turned their heads to it. They saw Max running to them until he stopped in front of them, out of breath. "Have you two seen Leena?" He asked them panting a bit, leaning on his knees.
"Yeah. And she was flying too!" Twitch told him surprised, nodding. "Yeah I know" the lion told them. His two friends looked ar him wide eye and more confused.
"Wait what?" Twitch asked puzzled while Spike ate some cheese and bread. Max knew his friends had no clue on what just happen. He would have to explain later. But right now he needed to find Leena.
"I'll explain everything. But we need to find Leena. Do you where she went?" He asked then urgently, worried for her wellbeing.
The duo didn't know what was going on but they could tell it was something serious if their friend was that worried. "She went that way. Come on!" Twitch told him as he led the way. Max and Spike followed after him.
The lion scanned the sky in hopes of spotting the flying lioness but nothing. The three arrived at an empty area at an alleyway.
His two friends looked up at the sky two. But Leena was nowhere. Getting more worried, Max pulled out his staff, connecting it and closed his eyes, using his lion sense power.
'That's weird. I don't sense her in the sky. But I do sense her on the ground here' he thought in head as his eyes opened and he looked at the alleyway.
Max walked over to it while his friends stayed behind him. Getting closer, he could make out the sounds of shuffling.
He turned to a corner and spotted a glimpse of a blue wing. Max made his way over catiously, not wanting to scare Leena off.
He found her huddle in the corner, her wings crossed over her as she held herself. He stared at her sympathetically. The way her wings were embracing her was in this protective sorta way.
Twitch and Spike looked at Max's direction and their eyes widen at seeing Leena and her new wings up close. The lion turned to his friends and quietly hushed them, telling them to stay quiet.
His two friends nodded to him. Max crept closer to Leena but kept a good distance so not to scare her. Or if she decided to use her wings to wack him again.
"Leena" he said her name softly. Her wings lowered a bit to show her face. She still glared at him but it had soften a bit. Her brown eyes had sadness in them.
Max hated seeing her sad and hurt. What's worse is that he made her feel that way. Sighing, he slowly reached to her wing, lowering it down a bit to get a better look at her face but the wing flinched from his touch and He hugged herself more.
"Please Leena. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do this to you. You know I would never want to hurt you" he told her calmly. She just remained silent to him.
Max lowered his head, sighing. "This wouldn't have happened if I just listened to you. I toyed with something that I had no idea how it works until it was too late. It may be...no is my fault that you're like this. You shouldn't be the one with those wings. It should be me. This was my mistake. I should pay the price. Not you" he explained to her regrettably.
He didn't see Leena lower her wing a bit to get a look at his face. Her soften to see the regret and guilt in his face. Although he's the type to mess up, he wasn't the type to do it on purpose.
"I'll find a way to fix this. I promise. For now, we'll figure how to make this whole wing thing work. After all, we have friends that know how to fly. They'll help us out. I'll see to it that you're back to normal. I mean it" he told her serious, clenching his first.
Then, he heard a sound of something that's like unfolding. He felt a soft hand on his fist and he looked up.
Leena had unfolded her wings and was staring at him. She smiled at him softly. "Although you're an idiot and deserve a smack to the head..." she told him while smacking his head hard.
Max rubbed it, smiling nervous. He deserved that. "I know you didn't mean it. And I appreciate that you admit you were wrong" she told him, kissing his cheek.
She then noticed Twitch and Spike peeking from the corner of the alleyway behind Max. She felt a bit insecure that they see her in this form.
Max noticed where she was looking and smiled at her gently. He gently ran a hand on her cheek. "Hey. We'll make it work. It will take getting use to sure. But we're here for you. I'm here for you" he assured her and she smiled at him, glad to have her friends by her side.
"Come on. Let's head back to the laboratory" he told her, holding her hand as the four headed back to figure out how to solve Leena's new wings
