An idea that came up from GSBUBLE. This takes place before the surprise in the cradle moment.

Leena right now was not in agreement with her stomach. In front of her was a plate of waffles with syrup, chocolate drizzle on the strawberries and whip cream. As beautiful and delicious the breakfast looked, it made her feel the opposite. She felt disgusted and queasy.

"Leena? Are you ok?"

She glanced up from the food to Max. Her husband looked at her, worried. He noticed his wife wasn't looking to good since she woke up. Actually, these few days she hasn't been well. She's been feeling sick lately and sometimes threw up.

Leena smiled at him weakly, her ears low. "Yes Max. I'm fine. I'm probably just hungry a bit" she tried to assure him as she glanced back at her food. She took her fork, picking up a slice of the strawberry and popped it in her mouth.

But that feeling in her stomach got a lot worser. It just suddenly started to rise more. 'Aw I can't!' She thought in her head, unable to hold it in. She spat the strawberry out, getting up from her seat and running.

"Leena!" Max said alarmed, getting up and following after her. The lioness tried to find somewhere to throw up but it was too late and she threw up on the floor, holding her stomach while she leaned on her other arm for support.

She took deep breaths to calm her upset stomach, now aching after she puked. Leena felt a hand resting on her back, softly rubbing it to ease her. She glanced up and saw Max who knelt down to her height, looking at his wife with worry.

"I'm ok Max" she told him weakly before throwing up again, proving he wrong as the lion cringed disgusted. "Leena. I think we need to get you checked by the doctor. I don't think this is a cold. It's been lasting for almost a week" he explained to her concerned as he grabbed her arm and gently lifted her up.

The lioness didn't say anything, keeping her brown eyes down. He lifted her chin up to make eye contact with him and he saw how worried she was. "Look Leena. I know you're worried that maybe it can be something serious. But we need to know what's wrong with you so we can help you" he explained to her calmly, pushing a hair strand out of her face.

Sighing, she nodded in agreement, too weak and tired to argue with him. Carefully, Max guided Leena to the infirmary where she can be checked. He informed the nurses of what was going on and the queen made her way in but she turned around to look at Max with a nervous look.

He offered her an assuring smile. "Hey. We've been through worse. Whatever this is, we'll get through it" he told her confidently as he walked over to her, and placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

"Thanks Max" she told him gratefully, glad to have him in her life. The lioness rested her forehead against his before heading into the clinic to get herself checked.

The lioness was now resting on a bed as the doctor, an elder lioness, walked over to her. "Good day to you my queen. Your husband tells me that you haven't been feeling well. Can you tell me the symptoms?" She asked her calmly as Leena thought about it.

"Well it's been happening for almost a week. I feel sick and when I look at food, I feel disgusted. Max says I keep getting pale and then I threaded up recently. I thought maybe it was a stomach bug. Maybe a cold even. But they don't last this long I think" Leena  listed everything that has happened as the lady wrote it down.

"Hmm. I wonder. Those symptoms I have heard often from previous patients and it usually means one thing. But just to be certain, I will need to take a urine and blood test to confirm my suspicion. But rest assured it shouldn't be anything nervous" she explained gently and softly, wanting to assure the queen that there was nothing to worry about. Leena was relieved to know it was nothing serious. Still, she wondered what it could be?

She did the tests and left the infirmary. To her surprise, Max had waited outside for her, leaning against the wall. It touched her that king waited for her. He noticed her and smiled to see her as he walked up to her incase she needed him. "Greetings my king. We took some tests to be sure of her condition and the result should be within a few days. I will say though it is nothing serious. Just make sure she is hydrated and to eat but only if she feels like it. I will let you know when ghe results are ready" the doctor explained to him as he listened.

"Thank you" he told her gratefully as he and Leena headed back. It relieved him that she was alright but they both wondered what it could be.

Three days later....

Leena was back at the infirmary, receiving word from the doctor that the results were in. "So what is it?" She asked the doctor curious. The old woman smiled at her warmly. "It's just as I suspected. Congratulations my dear queen. You are pregnant" she announced to her and Leena's mind went blank.

"P-Pregnant?!"

She said surprised and in shock. She glanced down at her stomach. It was flat now but within time it would grow until the cub would arrive. She ran her hands down her belly, still processing that she was now carrying a new life within her.

"Whoa" she whispered in amazement. "I'm sure that King Max will be pleased to hear this" the doctor spoked to her kindly. "Doctor. If you don't mind, let me tell Max about this. I want to be the one to tell him" Leena told the old lioness. "But of course. I will allow you to surprise him" she said before leaving to attend other things, leaving the queen to her thoughts.

"Pregant huh? Max is definitely getting a surprise from within me" she said softly, happy to hear that they would have a cub soon as she got up and went out to find her husband to tell him the good news.
