One of my favorite episodes from season 1 was Leena's story. So this moment takes place after that episode of

It was nighttime, everyone asleep in the Phoenix except for two lions. Max was asleep on his bed when his ears perked at some shuffling noise. His eyes opened up sleepily but they saw Leena walking out of the ship. His eyes were fully awake and he slowly stood up "Leena?" He said puzzled.

Leena was outside and she sat down, resting her back on the ship. She looked up to the starry night sky, its stars shimmering. Leena looked down into something in her hands...her father's goggles. Leena stared at it sadly and sighed as she held it to her chest.

"Leena?" Max's voice came up and Leena's eyes popped opened startled and she looked up. Max was standing in front of her with worry on his face. "Are you ok?" He asked her as he sat down next to her.

"Yeah. I'm fine. Just couldn't sleep" Leena told him, not looking at him, the goggles still held to her chest. Max noticed the goggles clenched in her hands and he thought that whatever she was thinking had to do with her dad. When he heard about what happen to Leena's dad and everything she's done to rescue him, he felt sorry for her. Max knew how it felt to lose his father.

His eyes moved from the goggles to Leena with worry. He wanted to help her. Wanted to give Leena hope that they'll rescue her dad.

"Leena. I know you're thinking about your dad. And if you want, you can talk about it with me. If you don't want to, it's ok" he told her and she stayed quiet, her eyes away from him.

Max, thinking she wasn't gonna talk, was about to get up. "I really miss my father" she finally spoke and Max sat back down and looked at her. Leena turned her face to him, her brown eyes looking sad.

"My dad was a good man. He was a really smart and brave mechanic. He taught me so many things. Taught me how to build tech and gadgets. How to tinker. He even showed me the secret tunnels and pathways below the kingdom" Leena told him, looking back at her father's goggles, thinking of all the times they spent.

Max then had a question pop up in his head "What about your mom?" He asked her curiously. Leena looked at him surprised by that question. Her eyes went down sad again and she went quiet. Max was puzzled but quickly realized what that meant and he looked at Leena sympathetically.

"Sorry" he said, feeling awful about it. "It's ok. I never got to know my mom. She passed away when I was a baby" she explained to him. She always wondered who her mom was but never thought to ask her dad about it. She wish she did ask him.

Max looked down, understanding how she felt. He never got to know his mom. Or his dad. "When I was told by the professor that my dad had went missing and he brought me his goggles, I was so upset and I didn't want to believe it. I spent the rest of my childhood without my father" she told him, feeling upset and sad and she held herself and sighed.

"I'm sorry Leena. But the one good thing is that you knew your dad. Me...I never got to know my parents" Max told her sadly. Leena looked at him and stared at him sympathetically. She knew what happen to the king and queen.

"I asked the professor what my parents were like since he knew them so well. He always told me they were good rulers. He told me how my mom sent me away to protect me and had hope that I would save the kingdom. I wish I got the chance to meet them" he told her, looking up to the skies. Max did have adopted parents but he would like to know his real parents. Looking at the stars, he felt like his parents were watching him.

Max then felt something on his shoulder. He turned his face to Leena. She placed her hand on his shoulder and looked at him with sympathy. He looked at her the same way. They both understood how it felt to lose their families and they lost them as cubs.

"I never met them but my dad and the professor told me that King Adisa and Queen Shifa were amazing rulers with good hearts and bravery, always looking out for their kingdom while also helping the other kingdoms" she told him as they both looked at the sky together.

Leena then looked back at Max and she realized that Max was actually just like his parents. Good hearted and brave, always trying to help others. Just like he was helping her right now by talking about how she feels. "Just like you" she told him and Max looked at her confused.

"You're just like your parents. Good hearted and brave. And honestly I can't wait to see you become our king" she told him and smiled at him, feeling better and comforted by their talking. She realized she and Max had more in common than she thought.

Max smiled at her and he placed his hand on hers which was still on his shoulder "Leena I promise we'll find your father and rescue you" he promised her determined and she smiled at him touched at his kindness and wanting to help her. They both looked up at the starry sky, watching the stars with hope.
