Proud Father(request)

Max slammed the door in his bedroom and plopped onto his bed, groaning. The lion had been down lately. It was one month away from his wedding with Leena and he invited all their friends and family over...expect one. Max's father, Adisa.

Max was upset that his father couldn't attend the wedding. He wished that he could. Max had been hiding this feeling but Leena got suspicious and asked him about. Max recalled how he got all mad at Leena and snapped at her and he stormed off, leaving her there.

He sighed, tired as his eyes slowly closed and he fell asleep.

Max's dream

Max was in the lion castle but it looked completely empty. "Um hello?" Max called out. His voice echoing in the castle. He walked around it a bit puzzled. "What's going on?' Where is everyone?" Max asked himself puzzled and confused.

"Leena? Twitch? Spike?" Max called out and his eyes scanned around and they spotted something...more like someone.

Max spotted a statue of his father, Adisa and Max walked up to it. His ears fell down, already getting that feeling of missing his father. His head lowered and his eyes shut "father. I wish you were here" Max said.

"I am here my son" a voice came out, one too familiar. Max turned around and in front him was..."Father?" Max said surprised and wide eye. His father stood there smiling warmly at his son.

Max was completely speechless. He just stood there staring at his father. "Close your mouth, your drooling" Adisa told him teasingly and Max shook his head, snapping out of his surprise. Adisa chuckled at his son and then the former king turned around and started walking away.

"Come" he told his son and Max followed him, still puzzled. The two lions arrived at a balcony. Max saw that it was nighttime and the stars were out. The two cats stood there staring up at the sky.

"What are we doing here?" Max asked puzzled as his eyes scanned the sky. "Because...I sensed you wanted to tell me something" Adisa told him as his eyes left the sky to his son. Max did the same thing and looked at his father who smiled warmly at him.

Adisa motioned him to talk. Max knew it was just a dream but still it would be good to talk to his father. "Well father you see....I'm getting married" he told him smiling. Adisa smiled at this and his eyes sparkled with joy "That's great news to hear my son. And who may the lucky girl be?" He asked curious.

"Her name is Leena and she's the most amazing person ever!" Max said excited but then his face fell when he remembered how he got so angry at Leena. He said some mean things. "What's the matter Max?" Adisa asked worried.

Max then turned around, walking away from his father a bit "It's just I got mad at Leena and she didn't even do anything. She was just checking on my because I looked sad and I got mad" Max explained, his ears down.

"What was it you were so upset about?" Adisa asked and Max got silent. "I was upset because you aren't gonna be at the wedding. I said such mean things to Leena. I even said how I wished she was one parent short so we can be even. I just...I just really want you to be there" Max said.

He stayed quiet, wondering what his father was thinking. Then, Max felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned around and saw his father smiling warmly at him. "Did you mean what you said to Leena?" He asked him and Max stared at him wide eye "No! I didn't mean it" Max told him and Adisa turned his son around to face him completely, his hands on both of his shoulders.

"Son, a king must thing before he does or says something. But a friend must know when he's wrong and must fix his mistake" Adisa advised him and Max realized what his father meant. He nodded understanding.

"And Max. I know you wished that I could be there at your wedding. I wish I could be there too. And to see you grow up" Adisa told him, his hand touched his son's face. Max teared up a bit.

"And I will be there Max. I have never left you. I will always be there for you. I am proud of you my son. And I love you" Adisa told him tearing up a bit and the two hugged eachother tight. Max smiled, holding his father tight "I love you too father"

End  of dream

Max woke up and he sat upright on his bed. He thought about the dream he had. Max smiled. Knock knock! There was knock on his door and Max stood up and walked to it. He opened it and he saw Leena, standing there looking worried.

"Max I know you're angry but..." she started but she didn't get the chance to finish when Max suddenly hugged her tight. "Max?!" She said confused and puzzled as she looked at him.

"I'm so sorry Leena" he said and Leena slowly wrapped her arms around Max. She smiled although she had no clue what got in to him, she knew that it must have been something good. "I'm always here for you Max" she told him as they broke the hug, they looked at eachother, her words reminded Max of what his father said in the dream.

"And I'm always here for you" he told her, kissing her forehead as the two smiled at eachother.
