A Pirate's Life For Me (Child!SherlockxChild!reader)

        "(Y/N)! I've decided I want to be a pirate when I grow up!"

        You raise your eyebrows at your best friend with his mob of bouncy curls and bright blue eyes, "A what?!"

        He continues to grin like a mad man, "A pirate! I want to sail the seven seas! No rules! No annoying older brothers!"

        You crack a smile, "And what about me? Will you leave behind your best friend when you sail the seven seas?"

        Sherlock smiles and sits next to you on the couch in the Holmes' living room, "Of course not! I want you to come! Be my first mate!"

        You turn your full body to him, sitting crossed legged and grin, "Really?!"

        "Yeah! We will be the best pirates in the world!"

        "We'll be feared on land and in water!"

        He laughs, happy your as excited about this as he is, "We need pirate names! Like Long John Silver!"

        You smile and think for a second, "Captain Otter?"

        He smiles, shaking his head, "No, something better, though otters are still fantastic"

        "Captain Cheekbones? Seriously, if I slap your face, I could bloody cut myself on those!"

        "(Y/N)! Be serious!", he pleads but in truth is doing a bad job of hiding his smile. You sigh, trying to be serious for a moment, which is hard for your ten year old mind.

        "Captain Obvious"

        Sherlock furrows his brows, "Why that?"

        "Well, you always point out things that you find obvious that others don't. When you deduce people. In my opinion, better than Mycroft"

        "That's true... I like it! Captain Obvious! And what should your name be? I get to make it up, you made mine"

        "Alright, go ahead", you smile, waiting for your new name.

        He places his hands in a praying form up to his lips to think and closes his eyes. You always found this fun to watch, seeing his little mind work through all the options for the best one. He has a look of calm about him, but is soon broken when his eyes flutter open and he grins.

        "I got it! First Mate Smiley!"

        You blink, "Smiley?"

        "Yeah, because you always smile and make me smile! Honestly, you can make anyone smile, you're perfect"

        "Thanks", you say blushing slightly.

        "So you like it?"

        "I love it, Captain Obvious!", you say making him smile. He jumps up suddenly and grabs his father's cane and points it at you.

        "What do you say to an adventure on the seven seas, First Mate Smiley?", he says, deepening his voice to sound older.

        You laugh and stand up too, "Aye! Sounds like a jolly good time, Captain Obvious!"

        You both laugh and he hands you one of his brother's umbrellas for a sword, "Arr! A pirate's life for me, matey!"

        "Arr!", you say, laughing and Sherlock takes you on an adventure, making a map with crayons and you both go on a treasure hunt for random objects, but treasure to you both. Later, he even teams up with you to force Mycroft to walk the plank or the coffee table much to his displeasure, all he wanted was his umbrella back. He left continuing to call you both idiots and claiming he was the smarter one, but that didn't both either of you.

        Sherlock's parents watched the entire thing and loved that you became his best friend, his only friend, that you brought out his childish side.

        At the end of the play date, when your parents came to pick you up, you kissed his cheek, causing a deep blush to color his cheeks, "See you later, Captain Obvious"

        You run to your parents' car and even long after your car leaves, Sherlock stands there grinning like a mad man.
