"Come on, Spock! I know you have teeth to smile with!"
"Of course I do, (Y/N). Don't be so entirely illogical"
You poke his cheek yet again out of boredom and the the determination to get some kind of emotion out of Spock. Even if it is irritated. Being annoying is your job as a ten year old human girl.
Now humans on the planet Vulcan is highly unusual, almost as unusual as a half Vulcan like Spock, but when your dad said he had to come here for business, you had no choice, but to move to the emotionless planet.
That's when you met your best friend, Spock.
He is odd, that's for sure. Quiet, logical, smart-sounding, and serious. Everything you are not, but opposites attract, right?
He is sort of your other half. Your Jimminy Cricket.
"Logical, logical, logical! Please smile? For me?" You give him your very best puppy eyes and he sighs, clearly annoyed, but attempts at a smile to please you. Lifting the corners of his mouth, he gives you a forced smile, showing off his white teeth.
You smile and clap, "There we go! A smile!" You give him a hug, but he tenses up, not comfortable with physical contact. No Vulcan is, you've discovered. Weird.
He pats your back awkwardly and you let go, still smiling goofly, but that smile wouldn't last long.
"(Y/N)", says a deep male voice from behind you. Your father's voice.
Turning around, you are faced with your tall, well-built father towering over you. He is dressed in his star ship uniform, giving you a sad smile.
"We have to go", he announces, melting the smile off your face.
"What do you mean go?", you ask, knowing what he means, but hoping you are wrong.
"To earth. To home. I know you've grown attached here over the two years, but we have to, I'm sorry"
You look at the ground, your vision blurry from the building tears. Unexpectedly, two thin arms wrap around your waist. Out of the corner of your eye, you see it is Spock. He's hugging you. He'll miss you.
That breaks the dam and you turn around to hug him back as the tears roll down your cheek, "It's okay, (Y/N). Crying is logical" you hear him whisper, his voice cracking.
You pull away after a moment and see he is crying too which comes at a huge shock, "You'll miss me?"
"You're my only and best friend. Of course I will", he says with a forced smile. Smiling slightly, you raise your hand with a Vulcan salute. He chuckles sadly and raises his hand too.
"Live long and prosper", you both speak in sync.
—————————-(15 years later)————————
Fixing your uniform top, you look up at the legendary Star ship Enterprise. Taking a deep breath, you step on board with your luggage, ready for the five year voyage in which you are a scientist.
You haven't been on deck more than a minute before someone speaks up, "And who might you be?"
The voice has no emotion, but its natural sounding as if the person doesn't know how to show emotion. Wait...
You turn around and gasp, "S-Spock?"
The half Vulcan raises an eyebrow that almost disappears under his geek hair cut, "That is Mr. Spock..."
"Spock, its me! (Y/N)!", you plead, hoping he remembers you. His eyes widen and he drops his PADD that he was holding, "(Y/N)..." he whispers before rushing over to you and embracing you in a hug.
You laugh and hug him back as he picks you up and twirls you around, "Spock! I'm getting dizzy!" Your (H/C) hair whips in your face. He looks at you with the biggest smile you've ever seen on him.
He puts you down, still grinning like mad, "That was highly illogical, but I missed you so. You've grown up so well, (Y/N)"
You blush, recognizing his statement to be a form of Vulcans saying you look nice, "Thank you, Spock. You look very handsome, too"
His cheeks and edges of his pointed ears turn a light green as he nods, "Thank you. Are you the new scientist, my assistant?"
You nod, "I prefer co-scientist though. I am no assistant of my best friend"
Spock chuckles, "You never fail to disappoint me, (Y/N)"
And then together he gives you a tour of the ship.
————-(1 year later)———-
"Spock, look at this!", you exclaim examining a slide under the microscope. Spock walks over and you grin at him, motioning at the slide, "We did it! This is the cure!"
His eyes widen and he smiles, "Extraordinary work!"
You stand up and hug him tightly and he hugs you back, "The cure to Helenitis! We're geniuses! We have to show Kirk!"
You let him go and go to grab the slide, but Spock has the same idea. Accidentally, your fingers brush against each other and you both quickly pull away, blushing.
"I-I'm sorry. It was highly impolite to attempt to retrieve the slide when it was obvious you were attempting the same", he stutters, his cheeks tinting with green.
"N-no! Its my fault! I'm sorry!", you exclaim, blushing a pink of your own. Your eyes lock with his and as if some spell was cast, everything goes silent. Everything melts away to the back of your mind as you look into his big, brown eyes with your (e/c) ones.
Not knowing exactly what you're doing, you both lean in and your lips touch. A warm feeling shocks your body, as if all your emotions have been increased by a million and you kiss him. He copies the movements and wraps his arms around your waist.
Breaking for air after a moment, you rest your forehead on his with a starstruck smile on your face as he speaks happily, "That was illogical, but that doesn't matter. I believe the words your planet uses is, I love you"
The words make the moment even better, making your smile widen, "I love you too, Spock. I have for a thousand light years"
And for a thousand more.
