The Seven Medallions

Episode 14

Pipers POV
I couldn't stop thinking about what Blaze had said to me, even after two weeks.
Who would want to contact me from the past? And why? It made no sense.
It made me stumped.
My eyes shined yellow as the gang gathered up for a weekly check up.

"Provisions secure?" Tails said while typing at his computer.
"Roger." Clair whispered.
"Master Emerald stable?"
"Check mate." Knuckles said, moving his knight to Sonics queen.
"Dangit!" Sonic cursed under his breath and cleared for a new game.
Tails typed their answers and recorded them in his data base. He liked to keep track of everything.

"So yes?" He said, amused that Knuckles won a chess game.
"Yeppers peppers."
Tails went back to the list. "Medallions safe?"
"Yes!" Amy, Tails, and Clair held up their amulets; the water, fire, and ice medallions.
"Alright." Tails said, finishing his spiel. "Weekly checkup is through. You may resume your activities."
Shadow grumbled at Tails and walked off to his room while the others watched the chess match.
"Hey Piper?" Tails called me over to his computer.
"Yeah Tails?"
"I have a message to you from Blaze. It popped up on my computer this morning."

What?
Blaze.. contacted me?
Something was wrong.

"Oh-okay.. can I see it?"
"Sure. It's a video message. Do you want privacy? Or can I watch it with you?"
My mind whirled.
"S-sure. You can see it."
Tails clicked on the video and it played on the screen.
That video changed my life forever.

(Hey guys. It's me, ccii. sorry to interrupt this program, but I have breaking news.
So this story is about to take an interesting turn. I'm bringing in a character from the comics. His name is Enerjak. If you do not know about him, I suggest you search him and read a bit about him before reading on. It will save you a lot of confusion later on. If you know who he is, then let us continue.

"Piper!" Blazes face appeared on the screen. In her hands she held the book that held the treasure map in it. The book had led us to the water medallion weeks earlier.
"I did some more research, and I discovered something about the amulets. And it isn't good."
I gulped at her words.

"When the four come together around one neck, it makes the wearer the most powerful man alive, but in a different context. The seven, when brought together, unleash an evil unimaginable. It uses the wearers body as a home, and takes it over."
I gasped in shock as Blaze continued.
"I have no other leads to go on, but I believe that the nightmares are indeed warnings. They are there to warn you about the evils of the medallions. Do not share this next bit with anyone else, because I am not quite sure still, but I believe I know what the evil, or who the evil, is."
She looked around and quietly whispered the unthinkable into the camera.
"Enerjak. The evil is Enerjak. Beware, Piper. He is after you."
And the screen went blank.
And I fell to my knees in shock.
I looked up at Tails.
He was gaping.

Enerjak.
A name to horrible to say out loud.
And he was after me.

Tails looked at me worriedly. I could tell he was slightly confused, and deeply troubled.
"Should we tell the others?"
"You don't have to."
Sonic wiped his forehead.
Amy, Knuckles, and Clair stood in shock, staring at the computer screen.
Knuckles shook. "Enerjak. It can't be. He is back?"
I stared at Knuckles in pity as Amy comforted him. He knew what it was like to be controlled by Enerjak. To have his soul manipulated. To almost kill those he loved.
And now he was after me.
"Piper," Sonic said to me, pulling me from the ground. "What did Blaze mean by dreams?"
So I told them. I told them everything. The blinding white, the Voice, the vortex, Blazes warning before we left.

Clair frowned. "We must go even faster to get the Medallions. We cannot let Eggman release Enerjak unknowingly. It's quite obvious that he doesn't know about the evil. He still believes that he will become powerful with the medallions."
I nodded with the others.
"I think it would be best to tell him," Amy said. "Maybe if Eggman knew about Enerjak-"
"No way," Tails said. "If he knew about Enerjak, he would try to control him. And we all know that that will never happen. We would just fall further."
"Tails is right," Knuckles said. "I know Enerjak. I was him. He cannot be controlled."

I looked around the room and realized that someone didn't hear Blazes warning. Shadow had gone off to his room before the video played. That meant he didn't know about Enerjak.

I still had weird feelings about Shadow, so I decided not to bring up his absence. What he doesn't know can't hurt us, right? Besides, no one else realized that he was missing.
"I suggest that we only discuss this in private, and only when we get another lead," Sonic said. "If Eggman finds our ship, he could secretly eavesdrop using his techno geek machines."
He looked at Tails. "No offense."
"None taken." Tails sighed.

"So no talking until we get another clue. Agreed?"
"Agreed," we all chimed in.

No one was to talk about Enerjak. Yet no one knew what was to come. But we would be ready, or so I thought. 🌟
