The Seven Medallions

Episode 19

Clair's POV

We were finally airborne.
The blue typhoon was racing through space, tracking the remaining medallions with Tails' fire medallion.
It had taken forever to track Piper down when she was abducted. The jungles blocked our sensors and tracking devices. When we had finally reached the village of coyotes, we had asked what was going on and where we could find Piper. One villager said that a Princess Philimena was being sacrificed and explained her situation with the volcano and vines, we knew in an instant that it had to be her. We came up with a plan; Shadow, Amy, and Knuckles would distract them with attacks, Tails would fly up and rescue her, and Sonic and I would freeze the volcano. It was no easy task, but we did it, and got a bonus: the Earth Medallion.

"So, who wants to watch the Earth medallion?" Sonic said, raising it up into the sky. Knuckles raised his hand.
"O OHH MEE I DO!"
"Alright, Knuckles will watch over the Earth Medallion!!"
Everyone cheered. The mood was lightening up, especially Pipers.

Her arm was permanently damaged. Right now it was bandaged up. Tails had taken some tests and found out that she had damaged nerve tissue in her forearm. She could still move her fingers, but moving her full arm was a task. It hurt to just pick up a glass of water, much less a medallion.
She was still having nightmares too. I was the only one who knew about them. Everynight she would wake up in a cold sweat, run to my room, and tell me about it. It was the same each night. She would continually wake up just before the vortex pulled her in. I told her that maybe it would be best if she stayed asleep to find out more about the voice, but she was scared that she wouldn't wake up again after. Yet, Piper found it harder to stay awake. The dreams were getting stronger, and there was nothing that I or she could do about that.

"Piper! You have got a message from Link!" Tails called out from his computer. Her eyes lit up when she heard.
"Hd on! Be right there!"
She got up from her seat and sprinted full speed to Tails' desk. He played the video.

"Hi Piper! Sorry that this is a bit late," Link began, his dark brown fur turning pink with embarrassment, "but it took a while to get modernized here." He turned the camera around. In the place of the huts and tee pees was a bustling town.
"In fact, it took me forever to set this thing up!" Link tapped the camera, making the picture wobbly for a moment. Piper smiled. She missed her friend.
"Well anyway, just wanted to let you know that I'm the chief now! My father was locked away, once the locals finally realized he was insane.." he chuckled. "Hope you find what you are looking for! Stop by our planet again soon!" And with that, the video ended.

"Wow! They really got modernized! It's like a whole new civilization!" Amy whistled.
"Yeah." Piper smiled. "It looks great!"
I grinned. Although I had only known Link for a short amount of time, it seemed that Piper liked him, so I shall then as well.

I looked over to the lone figure leaning up against the wall. Shadow looked bored and lonely. It seemed as if he was hiding something, but what?
I gracefully walked over to him, smiling.
"Are you ok Shadow?" I said, looking into his eyes.
He opened his and looked into mine as well.
He was silent for a month meant, then blurted out the unpredictable.
"How do you trust me?" He said to me.
I was shocked for a moment.
"Why shouldn't I? Do I have reason not to?"
He shuffled his feet. "Well, no, but no one else seems to trust me as much as you have. Why do you trust me so?" His deep voice was quite alluring as the words rolled off his tongue.

I looked hard into his eyes.
"Shadow, everyones fate depends on us. Everyone fate depends on YOU."

Shadow suddenly grew tense and upset. Then he grew angry.
"No it doesn't. Don't talk to me ever again."
He stormed out of the room.
I stood teary eyed in the room, stunned and hurt by his coldness.
What did I say wrong?
What did I do?🌟
