The Seven Medallions

Episode One

Piper's POV
Tails and I were in his workshop, thinking and talking about all that we had learned. I couldn't believe all that he told me. Seven Medallions? Each with the power to give the wearer the element itself? And when brought together around the same neck, will give the owner unspeakable, unimaginable power? It was all to much to take in. And if Eggman was after them, we were in some major trouble.

"I can't believe it," I said, my eyes changing to a minty green. "I'm so surprised. Seven?"
"It is strange," Tails agreed. "But we have to find them all. Eggman MUST be after them, especially after what went down on his air base."

I remembered what happened last week.
Eggman kidnapped my best friend, Clair the Bear, because she had the power of the snow within her. She wore the Ice medallion around her neck. Eggman then extracted her powers and took off with it. Luckily, it only drained her of 3/4 of her powers, so she still had some left within.

I nodded, dragging myself out of my thoughts. "We have to go after them and find them before stachface does," I stated. "These medallions seem almost as powerful as the seven chaos emeralds."
Tails nodded in agreement. "We have to tell Sonic and the others, too."
We stood up and started to walk out the door when we fell to the ground, the wind knocked out of us. Dazed, we looked up to see what had slammed into us.

Sonic stared down at Tails and I, a look of embarrassment plastered on his face.
"Oops, sorry guys," he apologized, helping Tails to his feet. I jumped up and laughed.
Tails started to speak. "Sonic, we have to tell you something-"

"So do I..."

"What's with the rush?" I asked, seeing an urgency in Sonic's green eyes. They flashed with confusion, a look I didn't see too often.
"Well, you see, we have a visitor."
Sonic said, scratching his head. "I don't know what it's about, but I thought I'd better bring you guys out to decide what we should do. "
"Who is it?" Tails asked uncertainly.
"See for yourselves." Sonic grabbed us by the wrists and sprinted outside.
He stopped abruptly right outside his own house and we got a glimpse at our visitor.

It was none other than Shadow the Hedgehog.

He stood with his eyes closed. His arms were crossed and looked like he didn't want to be here. Amy, Clair, and Knuckles were with him, clearly waiting for us to arrive at the scene.
"Shadow?" Tails asked, eyes squinted. "What's he doing here?"
"Don't ask me," Knuckles yawned. "He appeared out of the blue."
"He interrupted our volleyball game!" Amy whined. "Me and Sonic were winning too!"
"It was a tie, Amy." Clair pointed to the scoreboard, which showed a clear score of 7-7.
"Whatever. We were going to win." Amy faced Shadow.
"Just what do you think your doing here, anyway?"
Shadow opened his eyes. They shined like rubies in the sunlight as he lowered his jaw to speak.
"I've come with some... news," His deep voice rang.
"Oh yeah? What sort of news?" Sonic inquired, his face shining with complete and utter interest.
Shadow faced him and spoke again. "Eggman is after the seven Elemental Medallions."

My face broke out in utter shock as I took in the news. I looked over at Tails, who was just as surprised as I was. The others seemed confused.

"I knew it!" Tails yelled ecstatically.

"Tails?" Sonic asked. "What's going on?"
"What are the seven Elemental Medallions?" Amy asked me, understanding that I knew about them too.
I looked at Tails, who nodded, reading my thoughts completely.
"We will let you in on the details later," I said, walking up to Shadow. I looked him in the eyes and asked him.
"Is there anything else we should know?"
"Yes," Shadow replied, closing his eyes yet again.

"I want to be on your team and help you find them." 🌟
