Pipers POV
My heart broke as I watched Tails plane crash into the forest. The sound of Amy's scream was ear shattering.
The screen for Tails camera went black.I was stiff. I couldn't breath.
Why him?
Why now?
I had no emotion.
I couldn't feel.
Why?
Then I realized what actually happened. Tails, my friend, my...
Tails was shot and crashed.
Reality is a bitch.I took in a breath of air.
A scream that didn't even sound real was pushed out of my lungs, filling the air with glass shattering notes.
I called out his name. I called him on his communicator.
There was no answer.
I could feel hot tears streaming down my face. In a haste, I called Sonic.
"SONIC." My voice cracked.
His face was broken. He was running as fast as he could to the forest.
"I know, stay there."
"SONIC IS HE OK?!"
Sonic stopped running and stared at something in front of him. I screamed as he ended the video.
WHAT WAS GOING ON??I had to do something.
I let my eyes drift to the amulet sitting across from me on the coffee table. What if...
I remembered Blaize's warning.Be warned, Piper. You are destined for something great, but greatness comes with a price.
My brain pulsed as it recalled the power of the light medallion.
The Light Medallion, or the medallion of the sun, is the strongest and most powerful amulet. The wearer can shoot powerful balls of lightning on command and can reverse ancient spells. Mysteriously, the medallion does not affect touch, but after use, the wearer usually cannot withstand its power. The devastating result is death to all who wields its power.
And suddenly, I realized what Tikal meant. She told me that I had to make a sacrifice, make the right choice.
I understood.
Determined, I wiped the tears from my eyes and grabbed the medallion, stuffing it in my pocket and rushing out the door. My body ached, but no matter.
I was going to save my friends, no matter the cost.Clair's POV
I was dumbfounded. The badnicks rushed forth as I saw the smoke spiral out from the trees. Everything was in slow motion as I watched Sonic speed across the field towards the forest. Amy screamed and Knuckles gasped.
We had given everything. We fought with dignity against the badnicks, but with Sonic rushing after Tails, we lost two warriors. Shadow tried to cover, but it was too late. In the time that we were all numb from Tails' crash, Enerjak was able to get his cannon running again.
Tiny droplets of rain fell from the sky.
We all stood in defeat as we watched Enerjak laugh above us. He sneered and jeered at us, the fallen warriors.
We, bloodied, lowered our heads in sorrow as Enerjak pointed his machine at us, ready to fire.
Sonic held the limp Tails in his arms, staring at Enerjak with deep hate.
And in that moment, ever so brief, in the pouring rain, I realized the truth. The battle was over. Our victory, lost.
We had lost.
He had won and destroyed us.For good.
Then, I heard someone call out to Enerjak. I watched in awe as the cannon turned away from us. My mouth gaped as I saw Piper across the field, holding up the medallion.
"YOU WANT THIS??" I hear her scream to the creature on top of a cannon.
He growled.
"Then come get it." She slipped on the medallion.
"NO PIPER! YOU CANT WITHSTAND THE POWER! DONT!" Sonic called out.
But it was too late.
Piper's medallion started to glow around her neck. Then, filled with light, Piper started rising off of the ground. Light shine from her fingertips and feet, ears and eyes.
I shivered in the rain and shielded my eyes. I ran over to Sonic.
"You have to stop her!" I cried. "That power will kill her!"
Sonic stared at Piper.
"I-I don't know if I can."
My eyes suddenly darted to Tails, who coughed.
He looked awful. There was sot from the crash all over him. There were cuts down his face and arms, no doubt from the glass. He looked like he had a bloody nose from slamming his head.
"Tails!" Sonic laid Tails on the ground.
"Sonic... What-"
"You crashed buddy," Sonic replied, wiping some blood from his mouth.
"Oh."
I whispered to Sonic.
"We need to stop her, Sonic."
"Stop who?" Tails ears perked. I watched as his eyes drifted to a figure in the sky. His eyes widened.
"P- PIPER?!"Pipers POV
I felt...
Powerful.
My headache was gone. My bad arm had no pain. It was an amazing feeling.
But it didn't feel.. Right. Maybe because I know I'm going to lose my life.
But that doesn't matter. What does matter is locking Enerjak up for good.
Enerjak's face was distorted.
"YOU WRETCH. NOW YOU HAVE THAT MEDALLIONS POWER!"
"That was the point."
"NOW I WILL HAVE TO SUCK YOUR VERY SOUL DRY."
"If I don't lock you up first, hot shot."
Suddenly, the cannon fired up. I found myself automatically ducking and gliding out of the way.
I didn't even have to think to duck. I just did.
"STAND STILL MINK."
I ducked again as another shot burst through the atmosphere. I then found myself making some sort of energy ball from my hands. I threw it at Enerjak.
He used his own powers to create a shield to block mine.
"Guess my cannon won't help anymore. Time for plan B."
Suddenly, Enerjak rose into the sky in Eggman's body.
It was terrifying.
Smirking, Enerjak created his own energy and shot lightning bolt type arrows at me. I created a sphere around myself for protection.
"YOU RUINED EVERYTHING. THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SIMPLE. YOU HAND OVER THE MEDALLION AND NO ONE GETS HURT. BUT NOW, IVE MISSED MY SUPPER."
He formed a huge wave of energy and directed towards me.
"This has gone on long enough, Phoebe. Goodbye."
I gasped as the power blasted towards me.
But something flew in front of me and took the blow.
"Sonic??"
Sonic was now yellow. His red eyes smiled as he looked at me.
No doubt he has the chaos emeralds inside him.
"Now, Tails had said that these are connected somehow. I say that we work together and use everything we have got to destroy him once and for all."
I smiled and nodded.
Sonic used his chaos power to instill a blow on the flying Eggman. In retaliation, Enerjak sent off an arrow, which I blocked with a shield. I then sent off a powerball which knocked Enerjak off his game.
I knew we had this.
We had to.The battle had raged on for what seemed like hours. I shot my energy balls, Sonic used his chaos powers, and Enerjak used his powers against us.
It was two against one, with all-equal powers. After becoming bloodied and bruised, we gained the upper hand. The vessel for Enerjak, Eggman, was fat and slow. After many turns, he grew tired.
Eggman was used to sitting in a machine. Now he was out in the open fighting face-to-face. We finally knew we had won.Enerjak was now defeated. He was constricted by a ring Super Sonic had placed around him. He lost.
"Now for you, Piper. Lock him away." Sonic smiled. He had no idea.
I knew it was my turn.
I thought about my mom and dad.
Sonic, Amy and Knuckles.
Shadow and Clair.
Tails.
I didn't want to die.
I really didn't.
But I knew that I was going to, anyway.
No one can withstand the medallions power.I smiled at Sonic.
"Hey, thanks."
He looked confused. "For what, Pip?"
I looked sadly at him.
"For saving me all those years ago. I was lost, and you found me. Even though my mom and dad were gone, I found hope in you. And I cannot thank you enough."
Sonic scratched his head.
"Well jeez, kid. Thank you. But there isn't any need for thank you's here. This isn't a goodbye."
I sighed.
"Tell everyone I said thank you."
"Wait, Pip-"
I closed my eyes and grasped the medallion. I could feel Enerjak being pulled out of Eggman's body as we floated in the rain filled sky. The medallion's power left him and I felt him being dragged into my medallion.
My body felt like it was tearing apart.I don't actually know what happened next.
All I know is that everything went dark. I could hear Sonic shouting my name and falling through the sky.
I was gone.
But It felt ... Right. 🌟Authors note- yikes.
Sorry I'm bad about fight scenes. Maybe I'll learn and fix it one day. Lol.
