**DISCLAIMER- WING BELONGS TO Tiger_Pelt235 . ART AND OC BY HER**
Sorry this is late friend! Thanks for letting me use your awesome character!Pipers POV
"Sonic!" I said, grabbing his arm. "You can't go alone!"
"And why not?"
We were standing alone in the kitchen. Sonic was still packing his bags full of chili dog supplies.
"Because it's dangerous up there in the Mobius Montains!" I whispered fiercely. "You could get killed, or hurt, or-"
"RELAX," he whispered back. "You know me. I am the fastest thing alive! It'll be so much easier if I go alone, without anyone to look after or slow me down." Sonic smiled, cracking his knuckles. "Besides, I can't let Shad show me up by getting the water amulet. If I get the air one, I can rub it all up in his emo ego."I facepalmed.
"I can't talk you out of this, can I?"
Sonic smirked. "Nope." He swung his bag over his shoulder.
Groaning, I fixed my ponytail and stuffed sandwich meat and bread in his bag.
"Then I guess I'm coming with you."We headed up the mountain swiftfully. Sonic sped up and I simply grabbed his hand and was dragged along. The mountains were snowy and were in no condition for a super-jumping mink.
Even Sonic had trouble with his speed. The snow gave him no traction and we had to take many breaks.
"Sonic.. can we.. slow down?" I said, huffing and puffing. I was barely doing anything, but the cold air hurt my lungs. It was hard to breathe.
Sonic groaned. "Piper, maybe I should take you back. You look.. well.. like you could use some sleep." He was right. The bags under my eyes were very noticeable. I hadn't slept well for weeks since the dreams started.
"Naw, I'm fine. We've just been at this for a while..."
"24 hours isn't a whole lot of time.." Sonic argued, brushing snow off his quills.
"And it's getting cold."
"Nothing we can't handle!" He wrapped his arm around me and smirked. "C'mon Pip. I thought you were tougher than this."
I made a face. "I am! It's just.." I looked down at my communicator watch.3 missed calls from Tails.
56 messages.
24 voice memos."The others must be worried. We should contact them.."
Sonic's ears suddenly perked up. He looked around, searching the white blizzard surrounding us aimlessly.
"Do you hear something?"
I strained my ears to pick up anything besides the roar of the winds.
Then I heard it.
"It sounds like someone yelling 'Avalanche,'" Sonic said, looking up.
All of the sudden it hit me.
"AVALANCHE?!?"
"Hold on!!" Sonic grabbed my waist and started running.
The snow started catching up to us. It rolled down the mountain, demolishing trees and stones, gobbling them up in its jaws. Sonic tried to speed up, but his foot got caught in a hole.
"Gah!"
We both flew forward thanks to our momentum, and I heard a crunching noise.
"AHH!"
"Sonic!" I gasped, assuming the worst. Then I looked up at the wave of snow behind us. "LOOK OUT!!!"
That was when the wave gobbled us up and all went dark.Beep.
Beep.
Beep.
Beep.I groaned as I opened my eyes. My head throbbed as I tried to sit up.
My alarm I set two hours ago on my wrist communicator was going off.
Two hours?
I realized my head was bandaged.
And that I was cold.
And I could see nothing.
It was dark, and my eyes strained to see anything. I shivered as I felt the walls.
"Sonic?" I whispered, trying to maneuver my way. Suddenly panic filled my head as I remembered what happened. "SONIC?!"
"Shh!" A voice rang. "You will wake him up!"
I stopped and held my breath.
"Who's there?"
Suddenly a spark flew out. And another. Another.
Then there was light.
The person who had called out was a cat. She was blue, and had wings on her back. Her hair was in a braid, and she held a torch in her hand. She had a green shirt on and carried a bag, no doubt where the bandages had originated from.
"Hi!" She whispered, walking over to me. "My name is Wing. What's yours?"
"P-Piper." I said, confused. "Where am I?"
She brought the torch around, illuminating our surroundings. "The Avalanche caught us and your friend in a snow pocket. Luckily it is bigger, so we have some air."
"Sonic?"
"He is over there," Wing pointed to a figure some ways away from us. "I didn't want to move him. His ankle is pretty bad."
I scrambled over to Sonic. He was unconscious, breathing softly. He looked fine, excluding his right ankle. It was bruised deeply and looked swollen. No doubt it was broken from the fall he had.
"What even happened?" I asked Wing, going over to my backpack I luckily still had with me. Wing made a face. "It was my fault.."
"How?"
"Well, it's kind of a long story.."
I wrapped my only blanket from my bag around Sonic. "I have time," I laughed and looked around. "And plenty of it."
Wing sighed. "Well ok..
You see.. Even though I don't look like it.. I'm a princess."
I gasped.
She smiled sheepishly. "It's not a very exciting life though. I'm the princess of the sky realm. Up here in the Möbius clouds. My mother and father are the king and queen and I was their only daughter.
"I love adventure, you see. Always have. I wanted to explore the ground below. My dad hated it. He always said I should keep my head in the clouds, not my feet on the ground. Ironic, isn't it?
"Well one day, I got sick of it. Today, actually. So I took what I could to get me by and was on my way." She paused. "Well, as I was landing, (because my castle was in the sky), I flew down and landed to hard upon this here mountain." She smiled sheepishly. "I think the tremor cause the Avalanche." She groaned. "I'm sorry. I really didn't mean it. Honest."
I laughed. "It's ok!" I shivered. "It was an accident. It could have happened to any winged cat."
She laughed with me. "I guess you are right."
"Besides," I added, "it's good that you stood up for yourself."
"Yeah.. I even stole his prized possession just to anger him." She laughed. "I doubt he will even notice. He barely pays attention to it anyway."
She pulled out one of the most beautiful items I had ever seen.
It was circular and sparkly amethyst inside a gold rim. The amethyst has a gold spiral around it, and it was held on a deep purple ribbon. I gasped.
"The Air Medallion!!" I gaped. "How do you have it?!"
She stared at me. "You know what this old thing is?!" She examined it. "My father didn't even know what it was. He just thought it was valuable when he inherited it."
I face palmed. "Of course! The amulets are protected and passed down by the royal families in different realms!! How could I forget?"
Wing looked at me funny.
"I should probably explain. You see, my friend and I have been searching for that." I pointed at the medallion. "An evil genius wants it and we must collect them before he can."
"Huh." Wing said. "There are more?"
There are seven altogether. We have four of them. All that's left is the Dark, the Light, and.. The Air." I pointed to the amulet in her hand.
"They are connected to the seven chaos emeralds and are extremely powerful."
