The Seven Medallions

Episode 33

Pipers POV

I was getting anxious.
They had been looking for hours, to no avail. Enerjak was no where to be found.
Through their earpieces, I could listen to my friends growing discomfort and worry.
"Where could he be??" Amy said, throwing her hammer around. "We have looked everywhere!"
"Maybe he is hiding away," Clair whispered. "Maybe he just isn't strong enough with only six medallions?"
"Well whatever it is, I don't like it." Sonic pulled at his gloves.

"Piper, can you hack into eggies system and check his cameras?" Tails spoke into his earpiece. "Like the time I hacked into the cameras on his airship looking for Clair?"
"Sure thing!" I remembered the time that he used Eggman's system as his own eyes and ears and used a code to break in his base. I checked all of his cameras, switching through all the rooms.
"So far, nothing is turning up," I responded.
"Well keep checking.. There are a lot of cameras in his base. Hopefully at least one will have SOMETHING.."
I ended the call and glanced over the rest of the cameras, ending with the one in the lab.

At first, I didn't notice anything. I went to close out, but then noticed something odd.
The room is completely dark, except for that seat in the middle of the room..
I stood around a little longer to see if anything would happen.
Then I heard a voice.
"Phoebe."
I swallowed at the sound of my actual name.
Then, out of the shadows, Eggman walked out and sat in the chair.
"Hello, Mink."
He smiled into the camera.
"What? You didn't actually think you could hack this pathetic system without me noticing?" He laughed and pulled at his mustache, the medallions around his neck glimmering in the small amount of light he had.
"By now, you must have realized that I am wearing the medallions. Of course, I being Enerjak. Ivo is long gone."
I gasped.
"But you also know that I'm not fully unleashed, because I do not have the seventh medallion. You do. And because of that, I need you."
He got up close to the camera. Eggman's spectacles glimmered, and for a moment, I saw fire from the eyes that were no longer his.
"You cannot hide from me, Phoebe. I know how much you care for your little friends. If you do not come and give up my medallion, I will have no other option but to destroy them. You wouldn't want that, would you?
"I suggest you get down here fast, mink. They won't survive long."
Enerjak laughed, throwing his head back. He game a smirk and my screen went black.

My heart was pounding. My chest felt like a weight was crushing it. I could hardly breathe.  Quickly, I dialed everyone up into a group call and explained everything about Enerjak being in control of Eggman and him coming after them. 
"Ok, thanks Pip. We got it from here," Sonic said, smiling. 
"But Sonic!" I gasped. "He wants me and the medallion! He will kill you!"
"All the better to keep you and the medallion safe."
Tails looked at me from the camera. "That medallion is our only hope to keep him from escaping.  And you are in no condition to fight. So, add those two together and the fact that I don't want you to get hurt, we get the conclusion that you must stay home and away from Enerjak."
"But guys-"
"No buts," Amy said. "You have got to keep yourself and that amulet safe."
"It's for your own good," Clair added.
I huffed and stared into the camera.
"You all be careful, ok?" I tried to sit up, but my head grew dizzy.
"We will, Pip. Don't worry about us."
Sonic smirked then ended the video.
I closed my eyes. Yeah, don't worry about them Piper. They can take care of themselves. They are stronger then Enerjak.

Boy, was I wrong.🌟

I'm not sure how many chapters are actually left, but there are not many.
QOTD- should I continue the series, with a new storyline? Perhaps with the computer chip mentioned in book 1?
