The Seven Medallions

Episode 31

Countdown- 35 hours
Pipers POV

The dream world around me disappeared as a profound pain racked my body. Why did waking up hurt so bad? Why do I feel like I'm dying?
Then everything around me went dark.
Everything was silent.
The dark around me was still as I drifted into nothingness.

Piper?
Piper!!!
I could hear voices.
Piper! On no no no!

Correction- One voice. It was tenor, but not as high as Tails.
Sonic.

Piper! Please Piper wake up!

Hey, what's going on?

A new voice. Higher, like Amy's voice.

Its Piper! She's been crushed by one of Tails shelves! Help me lift it off of her!

I could feel less pressure on my body.

Oh my gosh! How did this happen!?

I don't know! I just woke up to her screaming!

Hey guys, wha- PIPER!

Tails.

Tails, we need to take her to my house. I have medical supplies there. She needs urgent care.

Amy and her mothering nature.

I felt myself being lifted. More pain shot out, and I tried to scream.
No sound came out.

Here, let me take her. It'll be faster with me. I'll run over and you guys can meet us there. Go wake up Knuckles and Clair. I don't think this was an accident, and we all need to keep our heads.

Sonic, is she going to be ok?

A pause.

I'm sure she will be, Tails. We just need to act fast.

I'm going to wake the others. Just take her to my house as fast as you can, Sonic.

I'm on it.

No, Sonic! We have to stay together! Eggman probably has the medallions by now! And only God knows where Shadow is. We can't split up..

I'm coming with you.

Tails, stay here. You'll just slow me down.

I'm going. Just let me come.

Another pause.

Ok, fine, but Tails, please don't slow me down.

I wouldn't dare.

I felt myself being picked up bridal-style firmly. My head rolled over and leaned on Sonics chest as we zoomed out of Tails workshop and into the night.

I could feel the breeze flow through my hair and my fur as Sonic ran through the trees. We were at Amy's house in split-second time.

I felt Sonic place me down onto something soft, presumedly a couch. Again my body filled with pain.
Just enough pain for me to finally wake up.
I moaned as my eyes slowly opened up and I looked around.
There was a cloth on my forehead and Amy was wrapping up my bad arm. I must have passed out again, long enough for Amy to get here. How long have I been out?
I wasn't as messed up as I had feared. I had a pounding headache and my bad arm killed, but everything else just felt sore.
"A-Amy.. What the heck.."
Amy suddenly gasped as she noticed I was awake. She wrapped me in a smothering hug.
"Oh, Piper! You are awake!"
At the sound of Amy's delight, everyone rushed in.
"Piper! Oh I'm so glad you are ok!" Clair whispered, remembering not to touch me.
"Glad to see you up kid," Knuckles said, patting my head.
"Ha! Pip! I'm so glad you are up!" Sonic said, squeezing my hand in comfort. "You gave me quite the scare. You gave ALL of us a heart attack!"
Suddenly a yellow fox ran quivering in the room. He burst through the crowd and wrapped me in the biggest hug he could muster.
"PIPER!" Tails blurted. "I was so worried!!"
I winced at his hug but didn't stop him. I blushed as I tried to hug him back, but I squealed in pain trying to move my arm.
Tails gasped and pulled away.
"I'm sorry!"
"No.. You are fine."
I looked around at everyone, not surprised to notice Shadow missing. "How long was I out?"
"About 20 minutes," Sonic said, lifting and replacing the rag on my forehead. "Not too long, but long enough to scare us."
"What even happened, Piper?" Clair asked, worried.
I cleared my throat and told them everything. My dreams that have been growing stronger, the odd message from Blair, the strange antics of Shadow, how Shadow stole all the medallions and knocked me into the shelve, and finally my dream. Knuckles jaw dropped when I told them Tikal was the one who spoke to me and gave me the message. I told them that she was the medallion's guardian, and that Enerjak can be released with only six, but that he can be returned to his cage if the seventh is not present around the neck.
I didn't tell them about the "right choice" though. I wasn't even sure about it myself.

"Shadow! You are going to get it... So help me.." Sonic shook with anger. Knuckles jumped up and calmed him down.
"So how will we defeat Enerjak? After all, we don't have the Light Medallion..." Amy sighed, making a face.
"Tikal said she was going to give it to me." I shivered, sitting up. "But maybe I woke up too soon..."
"I'm sure that she will. Just give her time." Clair pulled her bangs down further, indicating her stress.
"Or maybe she already has..." Tails looked at me.
I suddenly realized that my right short pocket wasn't empty.
I slowly reached into my pocket and pulled out the most beautiful medallion we had ever seen.

It had a golden rim around a quartz center, with a shiny golden sun in the middle. The gold rim was connected to a gold ribbon that glistened almost as much as the quartz center. We all gasped in its beauty.
"We have it. The Light Medallion, amulet of the sun. The seventh elemental medallion." 🌟
