Dawn's POV:

I stood from where I was and I did not move while looking at the window.

After a few seconds I looked back at mom's picture and fidgeted my fingers together.

Just then, I heard another strange sound from outside the window and I only decided to walk towards it already but silently and carefully.

"Ah~!"

Someone's head appeared in front of me all of a sudden that I nearly tripped myself backwards after twitching in surprise and fright.

It was then that he entered my room from the window and caught me with his right arm supporting my back and his left palm covering my mouth preventing me to fall backwards.

His eyes locked to mine before his silhouette dazzled me along with the ceiling lights on the background.

Before I knew it, he supported me to stand up but he still did not took his hand off my mouth.

"A-ash??" I muttered.

He grinned widely and he placed his index finger on his lip with his 'shhh' followed by a wink.

"Wha-what are you doing here???" I whispered as softly as I could and Ash went to turn off the lights of my room before he stood back in front of me.

The moon was bright tonight so it gave light from the window and I did not took my sight away from Ash since he did not even announced his presence to suddenly appear here all of a sudden.

"Hehe~ Sorry if this is all of a sudden and I even entered from your window." He told me scratching his head already and that smile.

"Ah~ But what are you doing here, Ash? Nobody saw you getting here, right??" I asked him glancing back to the window where he came from.

He only nodded reassuringly before he rolled his eyes to mom's photo from the frame.

"Whaa~ So that's your mom, Dawn?! Oohh~ Now I know where you inherited your good looks~ He he..." He tried to speak as ever softly as he could but he couldn't help it and he even ended up chuckling.

"Ah?? You heard me??" I asked feeling embarrassed about it already.

"Sort of..." He answered and chuckled down again before assuring me that there's nothing to worry about.

I couldn't let my sister to hear him at all so I asked him to quiet down already and tell me why he came.

"Well..." He finally composed himself and he opened his backpack before he took out something from it.

It was a gift wrapped in a birthday wrapper that Ash gave to me.

"Huh? But Ash~ I remember that you already gave me your gift earlier in the party. That scarf..." I told him and I received his new wrapped gift.

"Well, yeah... I did.. That is another one, of course. I needed to do that or else May will ask me why I didn't give you a present at all." Ash told me.
