"Her Crime"

May's POV:

We brought Dawn to the nearest clinic and, fortunately, nurse Joy was there.

We were told that it might be just fatigue that caused her to faint. Since the school doctor was not yet here, we were asked what has Dawn been doing but we couldn't actually give all clear answers.

"Did she overworked herself, maybe? Their dance? But she said she is doing well..." I heard Ash who was already fidgeting his fingers under his chin that I narrowed my eyes to him.

"Oh~? She sounded like it wasn't easy when we talked about it~ Have you seen their dance video?" I interrogated and I really don't feel okay with what happened to Dawn.

Afterall, I promised Cynthia that I will look after her. Way back during the time that Dawn was still in her coma, I witnessed how heartbroken Cynthia was to find out Dawn's accident. It is the thought of losing your one and only family that led her to that... And I saw myself to her that day... I couldn't stand thinking that I might undergo that same situation of losing Max. So I promised~ Also for the sake of this friendship that bonds us... Though I haven't realized it sooner, Dawn became an important friend to me. How can I not protect her when I can?

"Tsk~"

"May, she'll be alright, okay?"

Ash might have recognized how I tightened my fists on my sides that he spoke up. Keyboard was simply leaning by the door with his hands kept in his pockets and with his eyes closed.

I felt my phone to have vibrated in my  pocket and I saw a message from the student council president. Not now~

It says that I have to go to the student council room and that it is important. There was an additional statement that says, 'I got it.'

I took a deep breath and I looked to Dawn who was now resting calmly on the bed. Ash seem to be still figuring out what led to this.

"I'm needed in the student council..." I trailed off. "I'll be right back~"

"Huh? Again??"

I did not answer Ash anymore and I ran passed Keyboard whom I even had a short eye contact with before I went out of the room.

I ran through the hallways and I happen to have nearly stumbled myself with Serena. She was carrying a certain box and since she was also surprised to encounter me, she actually dropped it.

I halted from running and I froze seeing what scattered out of the box after it dropped. My mind was blank and I eyed Serena getting chills over my body. At the moment as well, I tensed up after hinting a conclusion.

"It's you~" My voice was somehow hoarse and she flinched hearing me.

"Huh? Ah... M-May?" She raised an eyebrow with her inquiry as if she did not understood what I meant. "Ah... Photos~"

She picked the scattered photos and she was surprised to see what are those for. Actually, they were all photos of the members of Astrum Silhouette and, mostly, it was all Dawn's.

"Eh? I thought that this box was a chalk container~"

I gritted my teeth and I narrowed my gaze at Serena. I did not let her even touch another picture and I quickly grabbed her arm and pulled her in the laboratory since it was just around the corner.
