"have i ever told you guys how much i love you?" Y/N walked into her parents bedroom where the two of them sat. april was reading a book with the lamp on, while jackson was scrolling through his phone. the two of them looked up at their teenage daughter entering their bedroom.
"oh god, what'd you do?" april put her book down, while jackson took his eyes off his phone. they both focused on their daughter who stood in front of them playing with her fingers apprehensively.
"i didn't do anything!" Y/N put her hands up in defense while sitting on her parent's bed, crossing her legs criss-cross apple sauce.
"so how are my favourite parents in the whole world feeling?" Y/N rested her chin in her hands. she smiled her brightest smile that she add: a smile that was perfect for kissing up.
"well right now i'm feeling pretty suspicious. how about you april?" jackson told you before turning to your mom.
"yeah i'm feeling very suspicious as well jackson, thanks for asking." april said as she put her book on her bedside table, mentally preparing herself for whatever her daughter had to say next.
"i've been thinking about my current financial situation and----!" Y/N started to debate, before jackson cut her off.
"ohhh, so you need money then?" jackson rose his eyebrow. he knew his daughter was leeching for money now. the way she was talking so sweetly, made him certain.
"how'd you know?" Y/N asked.
"well the mention of your financial situation was a clear hint." jackson quipped as he and april exchanged a glance, just before he looked back at you.
"how much?" jackson crossed his arms.
"ok well, before i tell you the price i want you to know that the money isn't for anything fun or stupid. it's for clothes! a jacket actually, which is a basic necessity of life..." Y/N told her parents.
"good to know. now how much?" jackson asked again.
"well dad there's a few things you need to know before i tell you the actual dollar amount--!" Y/N started.
"look y/n you can tell me that this jacket can fly, or that it can bring world peace---! whatever, ok. we're not gonna say yes or no, until you tell us the price." jackson said, earning a small nod from april.
"ok so the jacket is only $40! per sleeve...plus $80 for the torso...and an additional $60 for the hood...plus tax..." Y/N told her parents, then bit her tongue as she waited for a reaction from them. april's eyes just widened in shock while jackson let out a scoffy-laugh.
