summary: you are the 17 year old sister of jackson avery and went to a party with your friends, where there was unexpected drinking involved

"so, where are you going again?" your older jackson asked you as you looked into your mirror and applied your mascara. "maddie's having a small party. it's ok jackson, mom already gave me permission to go." you told your brother wanting to cut the conversation short. your mom was in new york at a catherine fox foundation owned hospital, doing a select surgery, so your older brother was in charge and staying at you and your moms' house for a week.

"what time will you be home?" he asked as you closed the mascara tube and put it back in your makeup drawer. "i don't know, but i'm getting a ride back from kaylee. it's ok jackson, seriously. stop worrying." you rolled your eyes as you got up and exited your room with him following you down the stairs.

"i'd be way more comfortable if i gave you a ride home instead." he argued as you made it to the front door and grabbed your black doc martens. you didn't like wearing heels, so doc martens were a much better fit for you. you groaned at his need to protect you. "jackson i'm gonna be fine! what's with you?" you asked him as he crossed his arms. "nothing is with me y/n, i'd just prefer it if my 17 year old sister didn't go to a party at 10:00 at night, and not give me much detail about where she's gonna be." he told you raising his voice a little.

you sighed in annoyance, but you understood why he was worried. "ok fine, there's going to be adult supervision, there's gonna be no drinking or drugs, or anything illegal, i'm getting a ride back home from kaylee, and the party ends at 2." you told him in one breath.

"ok. thank you." he sighed when you finally told him about the party. "but i want you home at 12." he told you. "jackson the party ends at 2, i'm gonna look like a dork if i leave two hours early." you argued. "hey, you're home by midnight, or else you're not going." he crossed his arms. "1:00." you argued back. "12:00 or no deal." he told you. "fine." you rolled your eyes and shook his hand. "alright. let's go then." he grabbed the keys and you both went out the door.

you guys arrived to the party and you were about to get out of the car when your brother stopped you. "hey, you better be home by midnight ok? i don't want a heart attack." he told you and you chuckled. "ok i will be." you reassured him as he nodded. "be safe. and don't do anything i wouldn't do!" jackson told you as you got out of the car. you rolled your eyes and started to walk away. "call me if you need anything!" he said as you waved to him. he drove away after seeing that you got in safely.

you went into the party and met with your friends maddie, who hosted the party, and kaylee, who was supposed to drive you home. "hey guys." you smiled and hugged them as they greeted you back. there was already about 20 people there, which confused you since maddie told you it was a small party. you guys chatted a bit as the three of you made your way to the kitchen. "want something to drink?" maddie asked you. "yeah sure." you replied, the two of you yelling over the loud music.

you and kaylee stood in the kitchen as maddie poured you your drinks. she passed you each a red solo cup, as you all toasted and took a sip. you winces as you swallowed the strong drink. "gross. what is this?" you wiped your mouth as you adjusted to the awful taste. "it's vodka mixed with coke. what did you think it was?" maddie laughed as kaylee took another sip. "i thought it was regular coke." you chuckled. they continued to drink up, while you dumped your's down the drain.

time passed as you continued to check the time. it was now 11:40 and you figured you should find kaylee to make sure she could still drive you. you had watched her drink more and more throughout the night and randomly dance and yell through the party. she was drunk. you went up to her while she was dancing with a random guy she just met. "hey kaylee, are you still giving me a ride." you asked her as she lightly pushed you away. "go away i'm dancing." you rolled your eyes and the boy she was dancing with widened his eyes. "listen kaylee um, this was fun, but i think you should go with your friend." the boy told her then walked away.

"look what you did! leave me alone!" kaylee yelled at you as people at the party started to stare. "kaylee you're definitely not driving. i'm gonna call my brother to pick us up." you told her as you dialled jackson's number. you covered your other ear as he picked up, so you could hear him. "hey y/n, is everything okay?" jackson panicked.

"um, yeah. can you come pick kaylee and i up." you asked your brother. "um of course. now? it's not even 12 yet, what's going on?" he questioned you. "uh, i'll explain when i see you. now would be great. thanks, bye." you said and hung up the phone. you grabbed kaylee's hand and led her outside to where your brother was gonna be. in about five minutes he pulled up in his sports car and you got into the front seat after helping kaylee get in the back and doing her seatbelt.

you buckled your seat belt as jackson stared at you. "so are you not gonna explain this to me?" he asked you confused on what was happening. kaylee started laughing as you and jackson both looked at her. "hey mr. blue eyes. you're so pretty!" she giggled as she looked at jackson. you and jackson shared a look as you sighed. "i think that explains it." you pointed to her.

jackson drove off and dropped kaylee safely at home. when you two were both alone in the car it was silent until you arrived at home and you both entered the house. "so what the hell happened?" jackson questioned you as you made your way over to the couch. "kaylee got drunk, and she couldn't drive me anymore, so i called you." you told him as you sighed.

"you told me there wasn't gonna be any drinking! so you lied?" jackson stood and you sat on the couch looking up at him. "i didn't know jackson! if there was i would've told you, i'm not an idiot." you said as he rubbed his head. "did you drink?" he asked you. "i only had a sip, and that's because i didn't know what i was drinking, ok? i thought it was coke." you defended yourself as jackson chuckled. "oh that's just great. you're not even 18 yet y/n, what were you thinking!?" he raised his voice.

"it was an accident jackson! i would never knowingly drink at a party especially after you told me not to." you told him as he sighed and took a seat beside you. your dad left when you were just born, and ever since jackson felt the need to protect you and be a father figure to you.

"look i get that it was an accident, but i really need you to be more careful. just look at what happened to your friend kaylee, and what if she did decide to drive with you in the car? please y/n, be careful. i cannot let anything happen to you. you made the right decision to call me, but never lose that good judgement, ok kid?" jackson told you and you nodded. "ok jackson. thanks for looking out for me." you smiled. "anytime y/n." he put his hand on your shoulder.

"now go change out of those party clothes, and have a shower. you smell like teenager." he told you as you laughed and lightly shoved him. the two of you laughed as you got up. "alright. after i shower wanna watch a movie?" you asked and he shrugged. "sure. i'll make some popcorn." he said. "sounds good." you told him as you bolted up the stairs and headed to your bathroom to shower.
