"they should stop making phone chargers look so similar. maybe you should paint or bedazzle yours or something, y'know so we could differentiate them." derek chuckled as he handed his daughter (Y/N) her phone charger.
(Y/N) and her mom addison were visiting seattle from LA, due to her mother was dropping in on an OB case. they've been living out of a hotel, so derek thought it would be great if (Y/N) could stay over at he and meredith's house for their last day. well, the day was over and now it was time for addison to come pick up (Y/N) so they could catch their flight back to LA.
"yeah, or maybe you could bedazzle yours." (Y/N) chuckled back at her dad's joke that their phone chargers both looked the same.
"that seems unlikely." derek smiled at his daughter's idea, though he himself was not the bedazzling type.
"oh come on dad, you should bedazzle something. maybe your scrub cap. or your stethoscope. i'm sure all the doctors would swoon over that." (Y/N) teased her father.
"yeah right, doctor bailey would kill me. imagine what she would do to me if one of the jewels fell into an open body cavity." derek laughed, just as meredith walked into the room.
"(Y/N) you left your jacket in the other room, you wouldn't want to forget that it's freezing outside." meredith handed (Y/N) the jacket.
"thanks meredith. dad i think meredith would love your scrub cap." (Y/N) smiled at her dad, bringing the conversation back to what it previously was.
"seriously (Y/N)..."
"oh really? and which scrub cap would this be?" meredith smiled while looking at derek for an answer.
"my bedazzled one allegedly." derek smiled a little embarrassed from his daughter's teasing.
"i can already see it. we'll take silver and blue jewels to cover the whole circumference of the scrub cap!" (Y/N) joked.
"yeah and we'll spell out doctor shepherd in the front in hot pink!" meredith added.
"oooh fancy!" (Y/N) smiled.
"alright, alright, (Y/N) your mom should be here any minute." derek checked his watch before he got up and headed towards the front window.
"uh oh." derek's voice echoed throughout the house, to where meredith and (Y/N) could here him from the other room.
"uh oh what?" meredith asked before she and (Y/N) both followed him into the other room where he was standing at the window.
meredith and (Y/N) both looked out the front window in shock when they saw that the whole view was covered in snow, and wind was swirling around heavily.
