your dad dropped you off in the morning and you spent the day at school. you were sitting in the cafeteria with your two best friends, ava and violet while ranting to them about your new older sister sloan. "and my dad gave her 80 dollars this morning, just for lunch! she's just using him." you rolled your eyes ad you told your friends.
"maybe he's just trying to be generous?" violet shrugged which caused you to roll your eyes. "ok, but 80 bucks for what a five dollar sandwich and a juice box? that's a lot of money." ava stated her opinion as you nodded agreeing with her. "thank you! it just bothers me." you sighed.
after school your dad told you he would pick you up, so you waited at the school parking lot. you looked around and didn't see his car, so you decided to call him. you dialled and after about two rings he answered.
"hey y/n, sorry i forgot to tell you. i won't be able to pick you up. i wanna check in with sloan after her ultrasound with lexie. just to make sure everything's alright. bus to the hospital from school and meet us here." your dad said, without giving you the chance to say anything first. you were obviously annoyed, but you settled since your school wasn't far from the hospital.
"yeah, ok. sure. i'll be there in like ten minutes." you sighed over the phone. "thanks pumpkin. love you." he told you, and with that he quickly hung up. you knew your dad was just stressed about sloan, which is why he was acting different. but if you said his new behaviour didn't bother you, then you would be lying.
you rode the bus that took you to seattle grace, then went inside to meet your dad. you walked into the main floor and were surprised to see lexie filling out some paperwork, and sloan standing beside her. "hey lexie. hi sloan." you lightly smiled and they both looked at you. lexie was happy to see you, but sloan evidently didn't care. "hey y/n. how was school?" lexie looked up at you then quickly looked back to her paper.
"um, it was good." you answered her. "you guys are done the ultrasound already?" you tilted your head at them. "actually we didn't start." sloan rolled her eyes at lexie. "we didn't start, because the ultrasound got pushed back a couple of hours. we're about to go in now." lexie glared at sloan before telling you. "yeah, i'm surprised i'm not in labour yet, by how long this took." sloan crossed her arms.
"alright well, i'm gonna go find my dad." you lightly smiled at them, not wanting to be near sloan any minute longer. you started to walk away, when lexie grabbed your arm. "wait! um, how about you come watch the ultrasound. you can sit there, observe, maybe entertain sloan during the boring parts!" lexie suggested, basically begging you to stay.
