"this is a humiliation."

everybody remained silent over the conference.

hoseok and seokjin were standing in front of the empty throne, not budging in their stand.

"why is the son of the jung clan involved in this mess?"

the leaders could only gossip while the two remained silent, hands on their backs while exchanging glares.

"and why is the royal guard prince having a lot to say?"

"he is oddly butting in so much because he's with the king."

seokjin remained stoic, squeezing his fist behind his back while waiting for the conference to start.

"you're doing your best to shield the second princess away from me."

hoseok whispers, earning seokjin's attention, looking back at him with a glare.

"did you plan this?" hoseok whispers mockingly, looking at him from head to toe, as seokjin whispered back. "what could have happened if i weren't there with the second princess?" he rose his brow, fist clenching underneath the armor in his fist, as hoseok mumbled.

"what does it have to do with you?"

"i am the second princess' royal guard."

hoseok's smug grin faded slowly, turning into a suspicious glare. "for a royal guard, you sure do have a mouthful opinion over the royal family."

seokjin's jaw clenched.

"remember seokjin, you have left the royal opportunity to be this low," hoseok reminded him, looking at the empty throne with his eyes glistening in thirst to sit over it.

"what makes you think that i already am a negligence in my own clan?" seokjin bit back calmly, raising his brow that made hoseok frown in reply.

just when he's about to ask seokjin what he was meaning, the doors of the conference hall have opened, making them flinch and turn around towards the person.

jin frowns in reply, seeing the king being back in the palace without any warning.

he's incredibly mad.

"my mind is breaking in half."

byulyi paces back and forth while they are in the open-spaced hall for lunch, but she wasn't able to eat, biting her lower lip while looking around, waiting for the conference to end.

as soon as the fight broke out last night, she wasn't able to sleep well.

as if something was happening, before the fight of seokjin and hoseok broke out, the court of wars have invaded the halls, taking the two princes out of her room that left her astonished, asking them what's happening.

all she could remember was the reassurance of seokjin that he'll be fine, then his platoon was blocked out of the place, letting her spend the night being surrounded by the government's guards instead of seokjin's, making her feel ominous.

"princess!"

her silence was interrupted, eyes widening as she saw one of seokjin's platoon member, rushing towards her until he gets shielded by the guards.
