byulyi didn't want to believe any of it.
her eyes went wide as she saw the familiar figure, covered in a black cloth as she dodges the sword, in thorough disbelief. "you-"
the door slams open, as the royal guards scrambles inside, as taehyung grabs byulyi by the arm, hiding her behind him as he yelled with his sword pointing towards the culprit.
"reveal yourself!"
he yells, as his eyes went wide to see the blood dripping in her arm, only to see the piece of mirror in byulyi's hand, who seems to be also astonished of accidentally hurting the intruder to defend herself.
everybody remained still, waiting for the culprit to reveal itself.
byulyi could only glare heavily towards her eyes, making her shake.
she had a hint, but she can't speak.
she never wanted to admit it.
and she never wanted her to be hurt as well.
taehyung gritted his teeth, yelling. "i am telling y- ah!" he yells out of surprise, as an arrow shoots from outside, dodging down as it pierces through the second princess' wall, their eyes widening as another mess started inside the hall, as taehyung drags byulyi outside while motioning the rest to continue fighting, but her eyes remained fixated towards the intruder.
it should never be hyojung.
"hurry, here!" taehyung grabs byulyi inside another room, opening it forcibly as they ran inside, with taehyung being alert in case anyone barges in.
"princess, do not leave, i-"
byulyi cuts him off.
"where is hyojung?" she suddenly asks, grabbing taehyung's attention as his eyes went wide, his sword suddenly lowering as he gulps, whispering softly.
"i knew that you would notice it."
byulyi's breath started hitching, the weight falling into her heart.
~
hyojung never came back.
byulyi stressfully ran her fingers through her arms, gulping down her dry throat while biting her lower lip.
taehyung had a hunch, and she had it.
both of them were too denial about it, but it's the only way that they can conclude hyojung's disappearance in a sudden.
"hyojung is not in her residence for two days, as they said."
seokjin whispers, pacing in her room with the king and taehyung, busily wondering about her whereabouts.
even seokjin does not want to believe it, but he needed to be rational.
"i... it's not her, i suppose that it's another tactic of the jung clan and the grand queen." byulyi whispers, whispering. "her facial shape looks identical to hyojung, as well as her eyes." she explains reluctantly, looking at them.
"i know that hyojung will never betray me."
seokjin remained silent, crossing his arms while whispering. "i cannot be at ease in confirming that, princess." he speaks, adding. "hoseok had mentioned about breaking ties last night, i had to place a room for doubt around everyone."
byulyi wasn't able to reply quickly, looking at seokjin.
"you will never know what happened with hyojung." she whispers, as seokjin replied. "she is missing."
byulyi frowns softly, biting her lower lip. "i know hyojung better than you, lord kim."
"i know, but you should not blame me for putting everyone in the case." seokjin answers.
