"have you called for us?"

taehyung and seokjin entered the king's residence, seeing him picking up the letters delivered earlier, nodding in reply before handing out the letter towards them. "the royal chef had delivered the news of the old villagers reaching the residences near the palace."

the two started reading through the letter, telling them that as soon as the night falls, they will start to enter the palace little by little until they get to surround each residences.

"however," taehyung mutters, grabbing their attention. "what is it, royal guard kim?" the king asks him, as taehyung frowned. "i have received some reports about new people entering the village already, earlier."

seokjin frowns over the news, telling him. "are there familiar faces?"

the king anticipated for taehyung's reply, but they received a shake of his head. "none that i could remember, they seem to be under the great grand queen's people."

"how many of them had entered the palace?"

"from what i've seen, they are twenty in population." taehyung reported, frowning. "i can sense that they are plotting something on for later."

they remained silent for a moment, as the king asks them. "have you successfully transferred the queen into a new residence?" he asks them, as taehyung nodded. "she is safe and sound, your highness."

"we need to secure the queen' throne before the great grand queen could replace her, her health is depleting each day." the king trails off, before frowning.

the king then crosses his arms, squinting his eyes before whispering. "are there any news about jung wheein?"

taehyung looks over him, nodding. "she seem to be allying with us, considering how she had talked to princess joohyun a few nights ago, i can't seem to have the time to confront her about it due to her clan maids surrounding her, but i have to try later." he crosses his arms, as seokjin mumbled.

"you still need to leave a room of doubt, she's in the jung clan." he reminded taehyung, only to receive a nod, as taehyung decided to no longer bring up the night wherein wheein was crying on joohyun's shoulder.

maybe he needed to consult joohyun later on about it, to have a hint of what could possibly happen.

"now that the residences have been filled with the old villagers," the king sighs softly, turning to seokjin as soon as they sat over the meeting table.

"i will be checking up on them when the night falls to allow their passage tomorrow." he tells him, only for taehyung to whisper. "i am quite afraid of you leaving the palace alone, now that we knew that hoseok is finally getting free."

seokjin purses his lips, turning to the king.

"taehyung is right, you need to have a few people with you."

seokjin shook his head, whispering. "it'll be more suspicious to have anyone with me, i can manage." he tells them, biting his lower lip before adding. "for the few people that i will be leaving, i have instructed them to secure the back doors of the palace to avoid the blockage of the others."

"is that your final decision, then?" taehyung rose his back from resting, murmuring. "what if you get hurt?"

"i can manage."

taehyung wasn't even quite convinced, giving the king a glance as if they were wondering why seokjin never wanted anyone to help him during the crucial point of their plan.

"what are you planning?" he asks seokjin.

"i would not ruin the plan, believe me." seokjin tells them, seeing them glancing towards each other, as taehyung chuckles softly.
